Certain games made my deck run hot. Sometes the game would crash due to the heat. Since using this my deck stays noticeably cooler,I've noticed improved performance and much less crashing. Yes it can be a little loud depending on the setting you have it on but for what it does I'd say it's worth it.

Checking temps while playing red dead redemption I noticed a 10 degree difference . And even feeling the steam deck without the fan for an hour the plastic near vent gets pretty hot , but with fan there is no heat on steam deck so definitely worth it for long game sessions

Couldn't believe how well this worked! Slides right into place and significant change in how hot my machine was running within minutes. It installed in one second and fit perfectly. It's sturdy enough that it doesn't move around or slide. You can use it plugged in or let it charge and use it wireless. It looks a little bulky but doesn't weight down the machine at all.

I was having issues with my Steamdeck overheating. when looking into this device, I saw complaints about the noise. I can tell you that I can hear the fan, but it’s not distractingly loud. I have noticed an immediate drop in temperature on my steam deck, and an increase in performance. this is an affordable option to help increase the life of your Steamdeck.

I've only been using it for a few days, but thus far I am impressed. I've been testing it with Palworld, a game that makes my Steam Deck overheat like crazy, and it keeps the system at a workable temperature. I appreciate that it runs off its own battery instead of siphoning power off the Steam Deck. This means that it does not put a drain on the Deck's battery, and it can be used to cool down the Deck when it is powered off. For the most part, it is quiet. Unless you turn the knob up to the max, then you get some noise and vibration. But I think it can perform adequately at lower settings.

I purchased an LCD steam deck used and the fan was already struggling to keep the system cool. When I would run larger games such as RDR2 even at 30fps the deck would get hot with the fan was working overtime. After adding this to my deck I have never had an overheating issue. I do agree with other reviews it is a bit loud, but if you are playing with headphones, or a good sound system you don't notice it. I cannot praise the battery life enough, it lasts way longer than it's rated for I've had it last almost 8 hours on the medium speed setting! Lastly, it does fit over the Jsaux hardshell case but the fan is a bit bulky so for storage or travel I recommend removing it.

So the cooling fan actually works, it can even remove the heat above the vent on the back. It's rather odd that it's pulling so much air but the Deck's intake has no chance of airflow. Yet, this is actually doing the work of the internal fan far better. Sadly I have a Jsaux hardcase which has the front shell that protects it, and both of them are clamp on the same edges. Then I found the previous fan model and it still has this incompatibly issue.
