If you are a player who uses pedals and travel from gig to gig with a pedalboard that requires you to plug in a power supply, you know it’s not always an optimal setup in many venues. I just purchased this Joyo rechargeable power supply. It came in on Thursday with a full charge (“Green” LED). I hooked it up to my pedalboard and turned every pedal on, and just let it sit here, since I was doing other stuff. After 5-1/2 hours, it was down into the “Yellow”, and I turned everything off. I charged it up on Friday, played a 4-hour gig friday night (turned the unit off between sets), left the pedalboard in the car all day Saturday, played a 3-hour gig Saturday night (again, turning the unit off between sets), and the unit still has a full charge at 4pm on Sunday. It was whisper-quiet, except when using my “troublemaker” Boss AD pedal because it’s a noisy pedal. Normal, even with a 9V battery.I run a MXR DynaComp (9V 100mA), Nobels ODR-1 (9V 100mA), TC Helicon Prophet Delay (9V 100mA), MXR Resonator Pedal (18V 100mA), a Boss Adaptive Distortion (9V 300mA), and a Morley Volume/Wah (9V 100mA). It has a USB port so you can charge your phone or tablet, and super-bright blue LEDs that you can turn on or off (neat effect in the dark). My only complaints are (a) that I would love to have another 18V output so I could run the Nobels at the 18V option, and (b) the power switch is on the back and can easily get bumped OR needs to be placed where you can easily get to it.All in all, even though I can’t speak to longevity I think it’s going to be a great unit for me. Another bonus is that it will operate while charging, so you can always grab an extension cord and plug it in if needed.

I love the fact that my pedal board is self contained now. Been using this power box for a few gigs now and it lasts all 4 hours every time. I run a tuner, delay/chorus, overdrive, and vocal harmonizer and I have plenty of battery left at the end of the nite. Very quiet and no more looking for power for my pedal board in front of the stage. Also use my pedal board for my duo act and with a battery powered amp, my setup is easy. Great product and great price!

I bought this to power pedals on my guitto board. Fits perfectly and as it’s a battery too makes like easier not needing to plug in. Good value, all the cables are of sufficient quality, battery has a long charge running analogue pedals. Can even charge your mobile phone.

Good price. Holds a charge for a long time - frees me up from needing to plug in on stage. Blue LED lights are cool. I got 8 pedals plugged into it. No issues. I'd recommend this to any guitarist.

Like most guitarists, I love my gear. That said, there's one thing I didn't like about my old pedalboard: I couldn't set it up anyplace that didn't have a convenient outlet nearby. While that's not much of an issue during most gigs, it can become a pain when you're jamming at home and just want to noodle out an idea or slam down a few riffs. That's where having a rechargeable battery pack comes in. That it's part of your power supply makes it even sweeter, since the last thing any musician needs is more stuff taking up valuable real estate. (This point is a bitter pill, and I'll get to it later.)Most of what you need for a compact pedalboard is here: You've got three 500mA barrel jack sockets for processor pedals, amp modelers, or multi-effects units. Then there's four 100mA sockets for lower-draw effects pedals. There's a USB port for recharging a phone or powering a USB device (5V 1A). You've even got one socket that's switchable between 18V, 12V, or 9V (100mA). All of this is on a unit that's about as long as a cell phone and about as thick as a Stephen King paperback (no, not "The Stand," relax).A battery light indicator will show you at a glance roughly how much battery life you've got--and of course, that life span will depend on the power draw. That said, I have no reason to doubt JOYO's claims on the product page. They certainly sound reasonable, and you're not going to turn into a thrash metalhead because you're trying to finish your set before your battery dies. (And if you *are* a thrash player... all I can say is party on, party loud, and play a longer set, will you? You've got plenty of juice left.)The unit comes with power adapter cords, a power adapter for recharging the battery (or going old school and just plugging it into a wall during use), and a single polarity switcher adapter.I've got to ding a star here, though--and it's for one thing: the power supply's on/off switch is located on the opposite side from where the power adapter plugs in. If your pedalboard has a power supply cage underneath it, you're going to have fun figuring out how to make this particular power supply practical because of that. Do you face the sockets inward--knowing you likely won't mess with those sockets again now that your pedals are installed--and leave the on/off switch on the outside where you can easily reach it... only to have to pull the whole thing out to be able to plug it in to recharge it later? Or do you face your sockets toward the back and have to feel around for the power switch? Because of this one design choice on the part of JOYO, I had to mount the power supply on the pedalboard itself, and my PSU cage now sits empty. The plus is that I now have full access to the power supply. The minus is that it's at the expense of more room on my pedalboard. It's a minor gripe for something at this price point, but nonetheless it's a gripe.Still, if my belly-aching about the power switch location doesn't carry more weight than the thought of being able to play anywhere you'd like--no longer (completely, at least) chained to outlets--you can do far worse than this power supply. I might sneer at it, but I don't regret this purchase.Everyone's got an opinion, and now you have mine!

If your like most Guitar/Bass players you have pedals and a board. Batteries are a pain and most of these boxes are not easily and quickly opened. Further if your board is packed its even more inconvenient. This is where a power supply comes in. No need to change batteries any more and mess up your board. Case closed right? Not quite. Power supplies have there issues. Cheap ones can give you all kinds of headaches. everything from noise to lack of headroom and channel separation. There are perfect power supplies but you have to mortgage your house and put your first born up as collateral. However there are some in the mid to low price range that are pretty decent in handling these issues. This Joyo Power supply has been designed to mitigate all those issues and more and still be within range of some one with a moderate income. I'm a Bass player and have 7 pedals on my board and they all have plenty of quiet power with good isolation and this has its own internal battery that acts like a UPS or if you want that pure DC with no AC rectification you can have it. I think this really represents one of the best bang for the Bucks purchases you can make.
