IC insertion rools I've used in the past you place it over the pads and press... with this, it may work well with printed circuit boards but into turned pin IC sockets it sucked and bent the ic pins

it doesn't affect lead-to-lead pin-spacing, only linear grouped lead spacing to either side of the package... I should have returned it while the window to do so was still open
