The insertion end makes "F" connector insertion fast and easy, even in cold weather. This tool is recommended for use on polyethylene jacketed cables and plenum cables, and is especially helpful when using tri-shield and quad-shield cables. 4-1/4" long.

The first one I bought was defective, and then the 2nd one was as well. The rear flaring portion of the tool was ground down making it completely useless. Zero quality control!

I bought this tool to help get some RG6 quad shield into a compression connector. On my first attempt, the tool just split the center conductor dialect. This was likely all my fault, but I ended up not using the tool and just ordered some connectors that allowed a larger space for the cable to fit into them. BTW, this was the second set of connectors I ordered and the first set said they could handle RG6Q, but didn't. In any case, if you decide to get this tool, be REAL careful how the cable aligns going into the flaring portion or it'll just cut your dialect.

the tool is solid, jonard makes pretty good tools. the issue I have is with the flaring end of the tool, it's too recessed in the handle, i would prefer to have it sticking out a bit so you can see what it's doing to make sure you get it in the coax cable properly. I didn't buying for the flaring part, I turned this tool into a RG59 and RG6 flaring tool (i bought 2 of them) by dismantling 2 connectors leaving just the nut and shaft and screwing it on the end of the tool, makes for an excellent flaring tool for both types of cable.

The 'flaring' end of the tool is so-so. It must be used with care and it still cuts off a few strands of shielding. The foil shield does remain relatively intact, but it would be better if it had more rounded or chamfered edges. The end that holds the F connector while inserting the cable is OK. It's just a hollow threaded tube so not much to go wrong there. Moreover, the black oxide finish on the tool I received looked somewhat inferior, it could bd better.

This tool works as intended. Using this tool, I was able to put F connectors in some RG6 quad shield that I was previously unable to do. It took just a few minutes to accomplish. At the same time as buying this tool I also bought a box of Klein Tools VDV812-606 F-Connectors. These work great and you don't need to use this tool at all.

...it will save my fingers from arthritis after doing a bunch of coaxial jumpers for the entertainment centers in my house and RV. I have made about eight so far and this little tool is well worth the price.

Good for forcing F connectors on, but the Flaring end is no good for CT 125.
