My 70 lb lab is a powerful & determined chewer. He has shredded up all kinds of toys that purport to be "indestructible". This ball has lasted several weeks so far!! He did puncture it about 3 sec into playing with it, so I did not start out with high hopes. However, I stand corrected! He can smoosh it enough to carry it around in his mouth, but as soon as he lets go to get a better grip, it IMMEDIATELY reinflates. So he hasn't been able to use his molars to make a "flap" yet. (The dreaded "flap" is the beginning of the end for rubber toys at our house.) I am curious to see how the winter temperatures affect it outdoors - might make it less pliable & slower to reinflate. But so far, so good!!Overall, this is a pretty fun toy. Humans can kick it, so no need to get your hands all slobbery/muddy. (Shoes will get muddy, though.) The large size & bubblegum pink color make it easy to find in the woods & in piles of leaves. Our dog loves running around with it, shaking it like he killed it, and tossing it around. He moves it around with his paws like he's playing soccer, too. I think it's too big & bouncy to be safe inside, but a really good outdoor toy, for sure.

We have a Jack Russell that lives for football but unfortunately she always ends up destroying them. It took a while but I finally one that is durable yet still light enough for her to play with. I can confirm that it is Tilly proof and she's obsessed with it! It's a great investment 🙂

We just received this ball today, and immediately took it out to the yard to see how our puppers would like it. All the way headed out, she was going crazy trying to take the ball from us - she LOVES her toys. Our dog and past balls: We have an 80 lb plab (pit lab mix), and she loves all toys, but has a bad habit of puncturing normal balls. The only other type we've had work for her are the solid kong balls, but they're far too hard for indoor play or bouncing in a crowded area (our cars are parked right by the back yard). What we wanted: We were looking for something like a small kids kickball, that we could kick around and bounce around but that she could still pick up with her mouth.Product Specifics:Size: This 6 inch is a little larger than what we were looking for. We spent about 30 minutes laughing hysterically as she pushed the ball around with her mouth open, trying to figure out how to pick it up. She eventually did, but it's not easy.Durability: The ball is made of a hard material, about 1/4 inch thick. There is a hole in the ball, which shows a hollow interior. It seems like it will hold up well as long as we don't leave her alone with it for long periods, as with unattended access she would quickly use the hole to tear it open.Bounce: The ball doesn't have much bounce, a purposeful bounce will bring it to about waist height. However, it bounces well off objects, and doesn't fly off crazily like the solid kong balls.Smell: The entire box had a blueberry smell, which was pleasant. It immediately got her attention. We'll see how well it lasts, but it seems to be baked in with the plastic, as opposed to being added after the fact, which is a good sign.Color: The ball is a bright light blue, which is good for dogs. Due to the spectrum of colors dogs see, red balls tend to blend in with the grass, as reds and yellows are seen in the same range as green. This being a blue, it stands out easily for her, which is what we wanted. Conclusion: This ball is amazing, even if it is bigger than we wanted originally. We're going to be buying one of the smaller ones, but I'm sure this will stay a favorite.

A godsend! We almost lost our German shepherd to illness last fall; now that his health is back up to speed, we get that much more joy out of his joy, making the hunt for the perfect toy an important endeavor. He's taken to carrying a toy around in his mouth almost like it's a pacifier--if it rolls under the bed or he leaves it outside, he gets super anxious. We tried another kind of ball that lasted more than a week--a lifetime by dog-toy standards--but once he figured out how to tear it up, subsequent balls were lucky to make it more than a day. I first ordered a Jolly Pets 6-inch ball about 3 months ago in an effort to find a toy that would have a chance of holding up to our boy's oral obsession. As others have mentioned, the dog's teeth will pierce the Jolly Pets ball's material and leave little puncture holes, but the ball will continue to hold its shape and (at least at first) not break into pieces. Eventually (about two weeks in) our pup did luck into some strategy for tearing up his Jolly Pets ball, but based on the longevity of our first one we gave the same brand and size another try. Unlike the toys we had tried before, the speed of his destruction of these toys hasn't sped up with time--the second Jolly Pets ball also lasted more than two weeks. Based on the $7 sale price, this has become our go-to dog toy. At about $14/month to keep him stocked, it's a far more affordable option than smaller and more easily destroyed balls. The ball compresses when he bites down on it, but doesn't have a "squeaker," so we often see him happily "chewing" on the ball for the better part of each day, with just the subtle noise of the toy's compression, and despite the heavy use it continues to hold up for weeks at a time. The size of the ball also adds a bit of novelty for the humans in the household--there's something pleasantly comical about seeing our boy walking around with this giant brightly colored ball, and we love it when he accidentally drops it and ends up kicking it around like it's a soccer ball as he tries to retrieve it. The ball has a soft but pleasant odor (blueberry for blue, bubble gum for pink). We have several dogs in our household, so keeping a mouthy shepherd's mouth occupied makes for a happier household. If I had ever run across a dog toy that was truly indestructible, I might have rated this product 4 stars for falling below that lofty benchmark--but in my experience this truly is about as good as it gets. For people whose dogs eat pieces of torn up dog toy, I don't recommend leaving dogs to chew on this unsupervised--the material is reasonably soft, but no doubt could risk a blockage should a pup be able to tear into it and begin to feast on it unencumbered--but for those who are looking for (relatively) long-lasting toys for their chewers, or for a fun and durable toy for non-chewers, this may be a great match.

Excellent dog toy for your back yard. I would highly recommend this ball as a substitute for a football. The 8' is a great size for our dog, it might be a little large. You can (lightly) kick it around and our dog will tackle and push it around the yard. The rubber is fairly hard, but it has some give to it, so she will try to chew it and has only left little marks in it. I don't think she will destroy this ball, it is very strong.Dog Type: Australian Shepard / Border Collie
