I was skeptical but the avocado saver actually works!! I kept it in the fridge for a few days and it only had slight browning on the top that was easily scraped off. Glad I don’t need to waste my avocado halves any more!

This neat little avocado keeper is useful! It really keeps a cut avocado from browning although I still recommend squirting a bit of fresh lime juice on it before putting your avocado in it. The top fits snugly into the bottom so that I had to insert a thin rounded end of my steak knife into the groove and slightly twist it open or I wouldn't have been able to do so. Not a problem as long as you're careful not to be too vigorous in inserting the knife blade .

The product looks pretty, but it does not function as advertised. Because the parts do not seal adequately, crushed avocado begins to turn black after a day, even it contains the seed (pit). Before I purchased this item, I placed the crushed avocado in a plastic container and wrapped it in the free plastic bag form the grocery store, secured the bag with a paper twist tie and placed it in the refrigerator. Even without the seed, the crushed avocado remained green for several d days. I suggest not wasting money on this product.

To me it’s nothing special, just a plastic container shaped like an avocado. I kept the pit in the uneaten sideWhich made it tight to close. You have to fiddle with it a bit to get it to open. The avocado still discolored With that said it works OK. IN HINDSIGHT, ID SAVE MY $ not recommended.

The lemon holder works well and keeps the lemon fresh. My only complaint is that the top piece doesn't screw on that tight.

The $6 cost of the Lemon Saver more than pays for itself. I use lemons often but rarely need a full one and storing them in plastic wrap or bags was only marginally effective for short term storage. I was tired of wasting money by frequently tossing them out and about a year ago, purchased the Lemon Saver. I've been shocked at how well it works! A few weeks ago, I put half a lemon in the saver, forgot about it and went on vacation. Yesterday, I pulled it out of the fridge with the intention of throwing it out, because surely the lemon would be gross by now, right? Wrong! Since the cut side looked a little dry, I sliced off a narrow layer and discovered the rest of the lemon was perfectly fine, fresh and juicy! I proceeded to use in a yummy salad dressing. Rarely does an inexpensive product live up to its claims but the Lemon Saver truly does.

This works well, it is easy to clean and keeps avocados nice and fresh. It is made of solid plastic and find that it closes with a good seal to keep things fresh inside.I work recommend this.

People have unrealistic expectations for these avocado keepers. There are tons of reviews wherein the writer is complaining about how these devices don't do anything better than a plastic bag. They're probably right and the reason is that the mechanisms of preservation in the bag and this device are exactly the same.The goal of these keepers is to minimize air to avocado surface area contact, so as to minimize oxidation. They both do exactly the same thing, so you should expect similar performance. This device is useful because it helps preserve, but also keeps my soft avocado safe in a hard storage case. This is a hard case that protects the avocado, doesn't waste or dirty up a bag, is really easy to clean, and preserves an avocado for probably about 2 days if you get a good clean cut and smooth surface on it. Is it going to prevent 100% of avocado oxidation even over a 24 hour period? No, it won't. But nothing will, so get over your complaints. This thing costs $4 and does a great job of holding, protecting, and preserving an avocado half for the short time you need it to

I bought this, and others in the range, firstly to try and avoid 'losing' half a tomato here, and half an onion there in the bottom of the vegetable draw in my fridge, but secondly because even though I might have known it was there, hiding, wrapped up in cling film, no one else in the family would realise. With these colourful 'pods', you can keep them in the cupboard when you don't have left over halves of things, but then when you need them they stand out on any shelf in the fridge for people to know there's something left over in there they can use up. I've got this one, the brown onion one (although I seem to only put red onions in it, so I'll have to get the red onion one too!) and the lemon one.The pods are quite large, and can take either one neat half, or left over wedges quite comfortably. I still wrap my left over items in cling film, just to keep the inside of the pod clean, not because I'm concerned odours might escape into the fridge - the lid of the pod screws onto the base so firmly I don't think that would be a problem - but I must admit I haven't tested that out (maybe other users of this item will have more details on that).They do have one big disadvantage, one bit of impracticality, over something that does the same job but is made out of boring, see-through plastic, and that is you can't see that there's anything inside it just by looking! Obviously whoever has put the item inside will know, but other people in the house won't know unless you tell them - they can't see 'in passing' that there's half a tomato or whatever sitting waiting to be used up, and might well search out a fresh, whole tomato, only to find (when they themselves then have half left over and want to store it in the lovely novelty holder) that there was already one in there!So, they're nothing earth-shattering in terms of what they are or what they do, but they are a bit of practical fun for your fridge if you just want to have a change to have some plastic storage that isn't a boring old 'click-shut' plastic box!
