This is not for cellos, it's for violins although it was marketed towards cellos. It did not fit any of my strings. If you're looking for a good wolf tone eliminator it's worth to buy from a reputable strings shop/ website and spend slightly more for it.Just don't buy it from here since the difference between a violin and a cello isn't clear.

In the advertisement, it was stated fit for violoncello (cello), but in reality it cannot fit in the G or C string. The weight is also not useful for G or C string. The wolf tone in cello is mostly on F, F# (or G, very few), so it should fitted to dampen the sound on those strings. If it is purposely built for violin, then it should be stated as such. Moreover, violin on E string has better option (which going through the string and weigh lesser). I don't know how to send it back, and the fee to send back is also not cheap. Dear all, be careful when you choose the product.

I have used lots of different types of wolf tone eliminators in my years. However, I was unable to put these on any of my strings including my a string. I think that the opening is just too thin. Perhaps it was glitched in the factory? I don't know, however I will have to take these back. I can't use them.

I have two on my cello D string to reduce wolf tone and one on my G string to reduce extra C string vibrations. Adjusting the position is required for best performance. just a note, you will need to open the slot larger for the device to fit on the G string. I used a Dremmel cutter but a jeweler would be able to do the work also.

This is much easier to put on the strings compared to the tube+screw model.

The groove is too deep to grab the G string and too narrow to fit the C string. Useless.

Totally useless since it is not as pictured, but has a C stamped on top and will flop around on any other string. The description does not specify that it is only usable on one string so I would stick with a product that is described for use on the string you need!
