Honestly I don't know what anyone is talking a about.Systems tested: Windows 10 and 11 machines. Both were plug and play without issue and windows hello recognized the device right away.My only complaint is the device itself is a bit light and I might add some weight to the base to hold it down.

So far so good after 3 months of usage. The product I received is not a swipe print reader. It works just by placing your finger on the sensor and then lifting straight up.

Works intermintently. Windows rejects it frequently. Some apps accept it regularly.

Plug and play - may take a second for your PC to recognize the scanner (check device manager and drivers). Still plugged in and working on my PC months after purchase for daily login use

I followed the Windows Hello prompt that tells you to swipe your finger over the reader. Don't do that! In the past, I had a laptop reader that was designed to be swiped, but this one is not like that. I was initially getting very frustrated with this reader's unreliability and thinking of returning it, but then I noticed another review that says you should press your finger on the reader and not swipe it. That sorted it out. It works reliably for me now.

Wanted to try out Windows Hello on my Windows 11 for Workstation and it was just to go into the computer configuration and choose the reader and get the driver. After that just follow the instruction for Windows Hello. Now I’m thinking of getting a Windows Hello camera since the one I got isn’t IR and that’s what Windows Hello wants. O boy, I wish I knew about this fingerprint reader when I had a 12 character password that I had to change every month… Everything is so much easier with “gadgets” that simplify the everyday usage. There are probably much better readers out there, but this one was enough for me.

I wish I had read the reviews a little more carefully. I bought this to try out at work and got it set up without any issue. I scanned in two different fingers with Windows Hello. So far, so good.Unfortunately, using the fingerprint reader after setup is a frustrating experience. It almost never unlocks the pc and after three attempts I have to enter my pin. It's actually read my fingerprint correctly and unlocked my workstation one out of thirty times. I've even removed my fingerprints in windows and re-setup a couple of times. My built in fingerprint reader, in another system, works flawlessly almost every time. Unfortunately I'm past the return window, so this will probably just go in the trash.

Logging in is much faster and easier. Sometimes, it doesn't recognize the fingerprints, but then Windows reverts to using a PIN. The device certainly is a timesaver for the majority of logins. It had a quick and easy set-up and began working immediately after I programmed in the fingerprints.
