This works but it doesn’t fill the toe area as well as a light bulb does. But the handle does make it convenient

I used to help my mom darn socks as a kid, and this set works just fine. The wooden egg is sturdy and there is a buch of darning thread that comes with the kit. Glad I got it.

In the picture there seems to be a wooden bowl/plate for holding your needles that was not included in the package. Also the egg seems smaller that what is pictured but I haven’t used it yet to see if it will work with my grandchildren’s favorite socks.

This is a good little tool for stitching up socks or any small work (inside doll dresses for example). My grandson and I have 'sewing school' together lol and we both enjoy using this darning egg.The needles and threads included are perfect. The needles are not sharps. They work well for woven materials (there are a few sizes). The needles have 3 different lengths (3 of each) the inside of the needle eyes are well smoothed out. The variety of colors of thread is awesome.

I can darn with this Darning Kit however the darning egg is kinda small for my size 12 winter socks and the needles are kinda dull and rounded also makes it harder to push through my sock material. Lots of darning thread and various colors to get you started.
