I purchased this carb hoping for it to be an to upgrade the original Quadrajet on my 1971 Corvette which has a mild cam, some head work and increased compression. First off, the carb looked like it was in rough condition before they recolored it.(see pics) I bolted it on and the car barely wanted to run. The fuel inlet also dripped around the threads at the filter housing. It appears they had too thin a gasket in there. I could not jet that to stopI tried adjusting the idle mixtre screws 1/4 tirn at a time, however this made absolutely no difference, even when turned in all the way, which should stall the engine. The car was running overly rich and wanting to die. I called JET's tech line over and over and could not get an answer. I even left a message to be called back, but still no one has a couple of days later. When i removed the carb to pack it back up, it was apparently pouring fuel down the intake, as there were puddles inside it. I packed it up and returned it. would not recommend this carburetor.

Not as pictured and of course I was waiting to install it when I had time and all the parts needed to update my vehicle. Then I waited one week too long and can not return it. Now I am stuck with a carb that doesnt work right nor did I receive the part pictured and advertised.

The carb arrived exactly as pictured, which is to say the components were all plated to the finishes you see in the photo. While not a big deal to some, it's a nice touch especially compared to the standard "auto parts store" rebuilt units that are generally stripped down to bare metal and not replated.I'm still having trouble tuning it, but I can't legitimately blame the carb, I see no problems with it. It looks great and it runs, that's about all I was expecting.
