Product Description

The JET Mobile Base Extension Kit, for the JET JMB-UMB-HD Heavy-Duty Universal Mobile Base (708119), allows you to maneuver your table saw and extension table around your workshop. Now you get the benefits of a larger ripping capacity and a versatile base.

From the Manufacturer

Our mobile base extension kits enable you to mobilize tablesaws that have extended rails and tables up to 60" long. They have the same unique spring pin design as our Universal Mobile Base for quick-snap adjustment. Extension kits come complete with everything you need, including rails. The design allows the machine to be just 1/2" to 5/8" off the floor. Two swivel casters under the legs provide for easy maneuverability. Extension kits can be configured to fit a wide range of tablesaw models for major brands with weights under 1,200 pounds. We recommend using the 708158 with the Powermatic 66 and other brands that weigh over 500 pounds.

Superb addition to my Jet Mobile Base 708118. My Jet cabinet saw with extension table is now mobile. When I need to move it, it glides easily and is relatively easy to turn. When it is stationary, it stays secure.Tool-less assembly is sweet, and it connects easy and securely to the mobile base. The one issue is that as you grab the table to move it, one of the table legs would slide off the extension base. This is because the Jet Cabinet saw extension table isn't centered on the base of the saw. It is attached forward a bit to the heavy steel rail that the fence slides along. The extension base comes from the center of the base, but the table legs (and table) are shifted to one side, putting one leg very close to the edge of the extension's ledge. One "C" clamp remedied the situation.

I purchased this to go with a Jet adjustable base for a new Jet Exacta Table Saw with 50" extension I recently purchased. Out of the box, it fits "reasonably" well, but the holes in the rail do not align up for a snug fit with the table legs attached to the extension table. Once set up, I needed to place a 3/4" block of wood between the legs and the angle iron to assure a snug fit. After adding the block of wood, I also added a C-clamp on each leg to hold the extension securely to the legs (without doing this the legs would fall off the angle iron when moving the saw). With a little work and a 1/4" drill bit it would be easy to modify the base to the correct length and not require the wood spacers. The wheels on the extension operate well, but do not lock securely so the saw will continue to move with just moderate pressure.Overall the extension works well, but certainly not quite right. As with the "universal base" Jet should be able to do a better job with this item and have it fit right out of the box without the need for drills, spacer blocks and c-clamps.

I've got a ~15 year old Delta 34-445 Contractor saw with the 52" Biesemeyer fence, and now I can move it around literally with two fingers, and I don't even mean two fingers pushing against the edge, I mean two fingers pressing down on the table and I can move/spin it anywhere in the shop. I'll try to upload some video because it's pretty impressive how smooth the whole thing is.I was impressed with the HTC-2000 stands I got for my drill press and jointer, but they aren't even in the same league as this one. It's very quick and easy to assemble, very high quality hardware. Two minor cons:1. If you lean against the saw hard enough, you can move it a little bit, however that only happens when I'm really leaning the lard (I'm 240 pounds) into it such as when changing blades. In normal use it's stable.2. I've got an Excalibur overarm blade guard, and it has an extra stabilizing "foot" that extends from the end of the Biesemeyer table down to the floor. The foot telescopes, so all I've got to do is loosen the knob and lift it before rolling the saw around, It would have been nicer had there been a slightly longer bottom to the L bracket so that the foot rested on it.Recommended!

Great quality - very smooth rolling. My only complaint is it would be helpful if Jet published the base setup settings depending on model of saw. It was challenging to match my saw's base size (even after measuring) to the settings. I had to lift the saw a few times on and off the base to get a fit. But otherwise great product.

I really really really wanted to give this a 5. I have a modified Sears 10" table saw with a 54" fence that needed a custom stand. This totally fits the bill. The adjustment is really clever and the casters are good for my saw's weight. Up to this point, the engineering is exceptional. But, it was at this point that they turned the engineering over to the "B" team, perhaps even the janitorial staff. "What is the problem," you ask? The saw moves! Unlike most stands at this price, there is no way to raise the casters and have a solid footing. Since the casters are swivel casters the saw shifts. The solution is drive wedges under it each time you use it. Unreasonable for this price. I wish the janitors had consulted with the lawyers 'cause after the lawyers had cut off two or three thumbs, they would have figured out that this is exceedingly DANGEROUS! . I pause to say I realize I am being unfair to janitors...perhaps is was, "Bring your kid to work day", and they let the little tots have at it on the drafting tables... Other than that, I love it.....

Just what I needed. The alignment was a bit tricky since I had built my own extension table but was able to adjust by using some cable ties. Bottom line, it works like a charm!
