This is, by far, the best piece of equipment I've added to my shop other than my table saw. It saves sooo much time sanding pieces that I would normally spend hours on.After a few hours of use, I am having some snipe issues, but I think once I get the settings/adjustments figured out, that will go away.Other than that, it's worked GREAT!

Just a note on my experience with Jet Tools company. Many of you I am sure know Jet Woodworking Tools and many own some of their equipment. I own a Jet 12” disk Sander; Jet Lath; Jet Mortice machine; Jet Drum Sander Model 22-44 Plus.My Drum sander broke down, a bushing on the drive belt went bad and damaged the bushing, the adjusting arm and wore the idle rod. I was able to order the bushing, a $5.00 part but the adjusting arm and idle rod (they call it the driven rod) have been discontinued. The Driven rod was not that bad, and I could use it, but the adjusting arm was not usable.I purchased this in 2006 and it has been a wonderful machine. Now the replacement machine sells for $2,459.00 not including tax. Jet has decided not to carry replacement parts for their machines, they refer you to E-Replacement to get parts. The problem is since Jet does not provide parts, they also do not have them. I found a number of other parts dealers, but they also do not have the parts. Now the adjustment arm is a piece of steel 3” long with a 90-degree bend at the end and used to adjust the tension on the driven rod to tighten the drive belt. If available, it would cost less than $10.00.Jet informed me that just like the auto industry people rely on after market parts. That would not be a problem if Jet produced a million or more machines of each model as the auto industry does. I’m sure there would be companies willing to make the parts as needed. But for a company that only makes a few thousand machines off a model, there are no companies willing to step up to the plate. Their advice is to upgrade to a new model. For the sake of a $10.00 part I have to purchase a new machine at the cost of $2,459.00 plus tax. You need to know who you are dealing with and what would happen if your machine breaks down after the warranty expires. We do live in a “buyer beware” environment.

Normally I would never utter a bad word about a jet product, I have a shop full of their products but this sander, SMH, I cannot tell you how aggravating it is and warn you of all the issues I've had with mine. I am unaware if they have fixed any of them. First, paper clamps break and cannot be replaced without changing out the drum, second, the clamping system does not hold the paper, resulting in it unspooling and tearing, so be prepared to do panic shut downs no matter how careful you are, third, the control board went out, let me be clear, this review is NOT about their customer service, its second to none, so, had to replace that and oh, did I say the drum ? 4th, now those clamps are failing and add to that the conveyor motor is giving me issues . . . now, if all of that does not cause you to run screaming, look up the sandpaper, yes, sandpaper conveyor feed for this exact unit, 22 inch by 44 1/2, after you see that you are going to be bent over and abused for a 120 grit wide sanding belt being used as the conveyor that alone will tell you why you SHOULD NOT BUY this unit. I use mine very lightly and now the sandpaper conveyor appears to be coming apart, in a air and heat conditioned shop ? Seriously, as much as it pains me, this UNIT is a hard PASS . . . . sandpaper conveyors should never cost more than say $50 for a unit this small, period, full stop, end of sentence . . . you have been warned.

Great machine. Changing the paper is a little tedious but I feel like that would be the case with any drum sander. If you're like me and need to have the base on wheels, the bottom of the stand doesn't seem to support the weight after a while. I would recommend building your own base for it instead of using the jet stand.

We are a professional Custom Furniture Shop and have looked at this type of product for the past couple of years. Should have bought it years ago! The amount of time that it saves is amazing. No more extensive orbital sanders.. There is learning time for the proper grit as we work with many different woods. I highly recommend it UPDATE 6/21.. Just finished a select alder top the was 35" wide and 104" long.. Just perfectly flat. Must have the extension tables to handle a piece this large. Did a great job!

Really enjoy it. Was a great buy. Bought the wheels, worth it. Mostly small stuff right now. Some butcher blocks are on the way. Easy to put together. Great shipping.
