First use was for hoisting some structural members for an elevator shaft. Was exactly what I needed, and it worked perfectly.

Works great, much smoother and better than the cheap ones. Only complaint is how long it takes to raise 10 feet since it has a high ratio to make a two ton load easily liftable.

Used it to pull up a hot water heater into the attic. I never used one of these before. It barely felt like anything was attached to it. This thing is very high quality. Probably a lot of overkill for what I needed but this will come in handy in the future.

This is a very well made, smooth operating chain hoist. I have no idea what sheerness is with respect to a chain hoist so I did not rate it. I usually use it with two lifting straps and the hook on the bottom could be a little bigger.

I needed the extra long chain for my new barn. I put a trolley the length of the barn so I needed the length for the height of the barn. I haven't lifted anything too heavy yet, but what I have lifted the chain fall make it a breeze. Be careful when you unpack it there is black soot all over it.

It did not kill me while lifting a Sawstop pro table saw with attached 48" phenolic router table extension, so that's a good sign. Estimated weight of 500-550lbs.Despite spreading the load across three roof trusses using webbing, my garage gave out a groan. After sprinting out of the garage AND changing my pants, I checked the hoist and the rest of my rigging and all seemed well.It looks and operates like a quality piece of equipment, despite country of origin. Fit and finish are quite good. The chains flow freely through the body of the device and the hooks are sturdy.It came with a test certificate, though it seems to have been tested overseas, so I'll take that with a big grain of salt.For a device that can easily cause all sorts of havoc, mayhem, death and dismemberment it is wise to spend more on a name brand you should be able to trust, like Jet.
