It almost caught fire. My speaker started to sound a bit funny while playing a cd. I only noticed when I started smelling burning and left the room to see what it was, then I realized the part of the song playing had a guitar missing. I took the 4 screws on the back off to see the issue, if a wire was loose etc. I open it up and it smells. The black wire looks like hell, sharp copper poking out, some of the black plastic melted white, the plastic it's attatched to was leaking brown stuff from where the wire was attatched, and the way it was sdered onto said plastic looks much shoddier than the other to begin with. Mind you, I've never opened it, only ever hung it up in 2 different spots and left stationary. Not acceptable. For this price especially. This is not okay.

When wife's old CD player stopped working searched for replacement, this very reasonably priced player has good sound loud enough if needed to force you out of Bathroom. The Remote is very thorough volume, cd controls, radio presets, surprising all the features included. Happy Wife, happy life...

Love that it could be mounted. Speakers sound great. Volume control is good. Does a good job picking up local radio stations - some as far away as 50 miles. Directions for programming were easy to understand. Love that it has a remote so you don't have to walk up to it to change stations or volume. BUT you do have to make sure you are in line of sight of the remote eye on the radio.

Because it can be mounted on the wall it saves counter space, a considerable benefit in our kitchen. The remote works well, but honestly the sound is not high quality. We enjoy putting on a CD for dinner, but the CD controls take some experimentation.

This is the worst ever. I could use duct tape and a transistor radio from the 70s and the sound would be similar. Tinny sound and just awful. Unnecessarily complicated controls. Sending this one back.

I purchased this for my office so I wasn't looking to buy a concert hall effect but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it sounds and how loud it could get. Sound is quite good although there are no sound controls but what do you expect for the price. It completely filled my needs and I would recommend it. If you want something that will give you that full surround sound, this is not the product, but for an office or reasonably large room, it is great.

Very easy to put together. Thank you to the reviewer who told people to set the clock first. I know it says it in the directions but people tend to skip over stuff and read it after they made the mistake. Hate clocks with the wrong time !!! It has a power cord and a battery backup Sound quality on the. CDs is great. The radio is ok. Certainly is loud enough and the volume can be adjusted I prefer to use the stand and it does take up more space than a reg clock radio. The instructions for setting up radio stations a little confusing but the scan feature lets you get your favorite station fast enough. Alarm wakes you with a cd, radio,or tradional sound. You can also set it to play for a set time to put you to sleep Remote let’s you turn it on or off from your bed It is a pretty versatile thing for a very reasonable price

I like the features this item has--the reasonable price, the sleep and alarm features, and especially the fact that it has a remote control.I can get plenty of volume from it when playing music, loud enough that, since I live in a relatively close-in courtyard with other residents of this apartment building, even when I have my windows closed I have to keep an eye out that it doesn't get so loud that it become a nuisance for other residents.I am not crazy about the sound quality of the speakers, but then again I didn't expect top-end speakers, considering the modest price of this item. And yes, I do like that it has a remote, but the downside of the remote to a certain extent is that it is very small--basically the shape of a playing card, but I'd say only 2/3 the size of a playing card, and very light in weight. But my biggest beef is about the display. The display is all but unreadable. If one is not up close, with enough ambient light, or if one doesn't luck out and view it from the right angle, it is very hard to read.So I feel comfortable with my middling 3-star rating of it.If I knew this stuff about it when I purchased it, on balance, I would not purchase it again even at this price, merely because of the difficulty in reading the display.

The unit looks great on the wall, it was easy to mount with the template to follow as to where to put the holes. As it's not a heavy unit, I just put little nails in the wall as if I were hanging a picture and put the unit on those nails. The unit plays well, looks sharp and sounds very good. The instructions are very clear on how to program in stations, no problems at all. However, the remote control SUCKS big time. You practically have to be directly right in front of the unit and no more than 12 inches away for it to work. Even when sitting at my desk, 4 feet from the unit, slightly to the side, the remote does not work. This is very very inconvenient when I have to answer the phone at my desk and have to get up out of my chair and go over to the radio to turn the volume down using the remote. The remote SUCKS. If you can live with that, I'd recommend purchasing this unit.

Me encantó que se fija en la pared, pequeño, lindo y funcional, sonido aceptable tomando en cuenta q es un minicomponente y el precio muy accesible. Únicamente le falta Bluetooth. Buena relación calidad- precio.

I bought this Jensen CD player to be able to listen to CDs while hanging out in my apartment. I was not looking for an impressive system, just something that would 1) mount to the wall, 2) play CDs, & 3) had an aux input (1/8" or 3.5mm) in case I would like to stream music via cell phone or computer. For the price, this is a lovely CD player/radio/aux input device. It is very easy to mount on the wall (requires simple drilling) & has a surprisingly good sound despite its build. The speakers are detachable & a stand is included in case the user would prefer to set the unit on a table surface. The remote control includes a new battery so it's ready to go out of the box. Although my unit stays on the wall, I could easily lift it off the screws & take it anywhere I liked without touching any tools. Very convenient.I especially love the CD ALARM function. I use this player to wake up in the morning instead of my crap a** cell phone ring tones which just irritate me before my eyes are even open. Every morning I wake up to a CD at whatever volume I set the night before. This alone has improved the quality of my life hahaMy only complaints are that the player automatically places a brief moment between all CD tracks. I own several albums that do not have space between certain songs but the player places a gap between them anyways. Not a deal-breaker, but slightly disruptive if you expect one track to flow continuously into the next. Also, while the digital display has a pleasant blue glow it can be difficult to read except for looking slightly down on the unit. My player is mounted on the wall at about eye-level & most of the time I can't tell what track number I am listening to. Whatever.Aside these couple of minor gripes, the Jensen CD player exceeds my expectations in this price bracket ($40). Anyone who says they "expected the unit to be larger" should have read the dimensions. Anyone expecting "super-amazing sound quality" out of a $40 plastic unit has no concept of what real speakers even feel like to touch. Do you need a simple player in your kid's room or the kitchen? Do you need an easy-to-use player for your classroom or grandmother that doesn't like techy stuff? It's hard to beat this Jensen player for $40.
