I had a intermittent issue with the ELS (CLough42) on my lathe. Threads were not cutting well since the carriage wasn't maintaining sync with the spindle. After reading the other three reviews that indicated this part fixed their problems, I decided to give it a try. This one works great and all is well.FYI...don't blame Omron. Their encoders are $400 and up. I would guess that all of the ones sold as Omron are counterfeit.

Tried the recommended Omron....didn't work. It was suggested to buy this one and it did. My sentiments are exactly the same as Alex's in his review

I like that it works, unlike the encoder linked in clough42's build on github. Ebay encoder = no good, Amazon encoder = good.

Used the same mounting holes, same wiring pinout as Omron! Great replacement at a great price. Two years later still working great on the Clough42 ELS! this is much better tan the Ebay offerings, they are prone to early failure if they work at all.
