I tried several different brands of LED bulbs before getting to the JDM ASTAR and wish I hadn't wasted the money on all the others. These bulbs are great. They're VERY bright and work perfectly in backup light and in stop/turn/tail light applications. When used as a stop/turn/tail light you can see a significant difference in brightness between the tail light function and the stop/turn function, just like when using an incandescent bulb. When using the bulb as a backup light, stand alone turn signal or daytime running light you get the maximum brightness the bulb can produce - AND THAT IS BRIGHT!!! The bulbs plug into a standard bulb socket, same as any 3056/3156/3057/3157 or any other comparable bulb. I do recommend that you check the socket thoroughly. These LED bulbs are heavier than incandescent bulbs and if the socket is melted even a little bit, it can be difficult to get the bulb to stay plugged in. I have had to replace some sockets because of melting, but in my opinion, it was worth it for the brightness I get from these LED bulbs. (and besides, I would've had to replace the sockets eventually anyway, even if I had stayed with the incandescent bulbs.) In my 2005 GMC Yukon I experienced hyper-flash when using the bulbs in the turn signals. However, I was able to overcome the hyper-flash by simply replacing the turn signal flasher with an electronic turn signal flasher. In my 2009 GMC Canyon I didn't have an issue eith hyper-flash because it already had an electronic flasher in it. A couple of other vehicles all I had to do was replace the turn signal flasher. These bulbs last a long time, too. I have not yet had to replace any of the ones I have installed because the bulbs burned out. They're all still working and just as bright as when I first installed them. This is a truly excellent product and well worth the price.

This pair of LED light bulbs was an easy upgrade to the dull, yellow incandescent OEM reverse light bulbs. Very bright, white light should make backing up easier. I considered adding independent light pods but this was much easier, albeit probably not as much light as pods would have been. Worthwhile, inexpensive upgrade.

I love these lights! They are the brightest bulbs i've gotten my hands on yet. They feel VERY well built. The support is amazing! They are so bright that I havent had a car come even close to rear ending me they kind of alert people earlier forcing their minds to brake way before they are right on top of your rear side. I love that because So many texters out there see these and instantly hit thier brakes. Total accident saver!I would give these a 5 star rating if it wasn't for one thing! The difference between the daytime running light mode and the brake lights mode. The problem? The modes are too close together. In order to feel safe on the road, I had to add resistors. I ended up cutting the voltage to the DRLs by 50%. In my opinion, ASTAR should change the voltage between modes alot. These do cause hyper-blinking due to the voltage drop it will make your car think that a full 12 volts are not being used where the socket is.But in my opinion, I don't mind wiring resistors it's very easy to do.PROS:Brightest bulb you will find yet.Solid build qualityMost amount of LEDs per bulb.CONS:Must use a resistor due to voltage drop. The DRL mode and the Brake Modes are too close together in brightness.I will update this review with pictures and youtube links.

Tossed these bad boys in for reverse lights as I have a very long driveway which I back into every night. These project and illuminate my driveway better than I had even hoped. Super bright, way better than factory and makes it much much safer/easier for me to park my truck at night.I've had them in my reverse lights for over a year now here in B.C Canada. They have seen anywhere from +36-38 degrees Celsius to -30 degrees Celsius and have never flickered dimmed or acted weird. Very good lights.

Installed these in my 98 ford Escort and what a difference!I still had the factory 3156 bulbs in there and was looking for an upgrade but I honestly didn't expect them to be this good. The old incandescent bulbs still worked but I wanted to be able to actually see behind me at night as well as have others see that I was backing up. I like the whiter color of the lights better than the old yellowish ones as well and feel that it helps to see better as well as the added brightness. They may have a slight blue tint but not much.I took photos of before, during, and after and will post those as soon as possible. All photos were taken from as close to the same distance and angle as possible. The photos will give a good indication of the brightness and color of the lights but they really don't do them justice. One thing that the photos don't really show is that the pattern of light is substantially larger and lights up more to the sides than the old lights did.I took photos from behind the car as well as from the trunk to give an idea of how much more can be seen. The closest cars that you see from the trunk perspective are between 45 and 50 feet away.If these last anywhere near as long as the original incandescent bulbs, I will be extremely pleased.
