Wife has very small hands, and occasionally has issues grasping lids. Saw this, thought we'd give it a try. It does grip well, although holding the container can be a challenge on super-tight jars. Multiple sizes allow for getting a good grip on most lid sizes (...except widemouth...)Only concern (which was evident by the size of the opener before ordering) is that on widemouth lids, the opener is too small as shown in pics. Widemouth lids are common on jars of salsa, dips, etc.

I have no incentive to do otherwise:This jar opener is fantastic. It's really well constructed of high quality plastic (I assume it's plastic) and feels great in the hand. The inner "rings" have a rubberized coating that provides grip to the bottle/jar you're opening. The whole thing swings open to allow you to get a proper fit around the lid, and the tool provides leverage to help make this thing super easy to use. I really like that you can use this for caps as small as a bottle of water, up to the larger lids.Conclusion: At $4 at the time of this review, this is a no brainer purchase for any kitchen.

A necessary for those who have weak hands. I got this because I have issues with opening difficult jars and this thing is awesome. It lets me open pill bottles, jam jars, and other bottles, no more find a strong hand in home, this thing is nice and compact. Also the plastic does not feel cheap. Sturdy!

As I age, opening jars is becoming more difficult. This jar opener works great. It is very sturdy. It makes opening jars and removing lids so much easier. I like that it has four different sizes of openings. It is easy to use. It gets a good grip on jar lids. The opener itself is also easy to grip. I also appreciate that it opens and closes, rather than being in a fixed position. The tab for opening pop-top cans also works well.

For the price, this is a heck of a jar opener. It doesn't have slippery plastic handles like some others jar openers I've had. This jar opener has softer, but still rigid enough handles to get the job done. There are two levels in each jar lid size cutout. Sometimes it works better lower down, just whatever helps latch onto the jar lid. The silicone attaches to the jar lid better than hard plastic and makes it much easier to open jars. I definitely like that it opens small soda bottles and mom can use it to open her protein drink bottle herself now. I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my thumb and my mom has a severely deformed hand from arthritis, so we both needed help to open jars and bottles. An added feature that I didn't know what to make of at first, the pop top can opener, great for opening soda cans too. The price for the quality and usefulness of this jar opener is astonishing to me. It is easy to clean and it should last a long time

This is a really handy helper for opening bottles and small to medium sized jars. I also like the inclusion of the built in prybar for opening poptop cans and tins. One thing to note: Unfortunately, jars with large lids will set the handles at an angle that is difficult (or impossible) to grasp single handedly (necessary so the other hand can be used). Nonetheless, it works effectively for many of the "stuck jar lid" and bottletop issues I encounter on a regular basis, so it is a good addition to my kitchen tools drawer
