About this item

  • Elegantly Engraved Design: These Japanese Masu Wooden Sake Cups feature an exquisite Kanji Longevity engraving, adding a touch of elegance and tradition to your drinking experience. The detailed craftsmanship showcases the artistry and cultural significance associated with Japanese sake culture.
  • Perfect Size and Capacity: With a measurement of 3.25 inches square and 2.25 inches in height, these cups are designed to hold 4 ounces of sake. The interior dimensions of 2-3/8 inches square and 1-3/4 inches depth provide ample space for your favorite sake, allowing you to enjoy the perfect serving every time.
  • Hinoki Wood Craftsmanship: Crafted from hinoki wood, also known as Japanese Cypress, these Masu cups are meticulously made to be leak-proof. The hinoki wood not only ensures the cups are sturdy and durable but also infuses a unique cypress aroma, creating a calming and soothing atmosphere during your drinking sessions, enhancing the overall enjoyment.
  • Versatile Usage and Fragrance Enhancement: These wooden sake cups are versatile, suitable for serving chilled sake with a saucer to catch drips or in combination with a glass sake cup inside the Masu. Overflowing sake into the wooden box imparts a subtle, sweet fragrance, enhancing the flavor profile of the beverage, providing a delightful sensory experience.
  • Easy Care and Authentic Craftsmanship: To preserve their integrity, these Masu cups should be washed only with running water, with no need for dish soap or hot water from a dishwasher. Made in Japan with high-quality hinoki cypress wood, these cups feature interlocking joints that prevent leaks while allowing for slight wood expansion or contraction due to changes in temperature and humidity, ensuring their longevity and authenticity.

A masu was originally a square wooden box used to measure rice in japan, today masu are largely used for drinking sake.

I bought them in order to make as a desert cup to serve matcha tiramisu. Quality is excellent and the Hinoki smell is great too.

I can’t seem to get rid of a very strong odor in these cups!I tried everything to get rid of the horrible odor in these cups and nothing worked. Unfortunately, I had to toss them. Figured I couldn’t return them after all of the different ways I tried to remove the odor from them.

This was much smaller than the description and only one came in the box. I’d thought that it was a set of two. Not worth the price at all for one considering that it is so tiny.

It's perfect, no defects, at full capacity holds 3/4cup (if you plan on using as a scoop).

It's a beautiful masu box but after one week of use it already started growing mold on the side. I have a couple of other boxes I use and they still look brand new.
