I didn't know if I could learn this machine. I sewed years ago and quit. Now that I'm retired I'm starting to get back into it. I've forgot so much. I purchased a Janome Embroidery 550e machine and love it, so decided to try a serger. Because I like my Embroidery Machine I decided to stick with Janome. I messed up pulling the threads through the first time I threaded it but needed to learn how to thread it anyway. The YouTube videos really help. The only thing I don't like is Janome put in a cheap plastic cover with it. My embroidery machine has a vinyl cover so Janome disappointed me on the cover. I'm glad I bought this one, not the top of the line but a nice one for me to play with. I do have a lot more to learn on it.

I wasn’t impressed with this serger especially since it cost double of an average one.

I bought this machine for my mom to replace her 20yr old serger. We got it specifically because it was advertised as having a self threading lower looper. But it DOES NOT. The sewer has to thread through all the many and overlapping guides themselves. While this is slightly challenging and time consuming, when one has a thread to tie onto and pull through the guides. It is a huge hassle when a thread breaks and one has to re-thread the entire machine since it has to threaded in the proper order. So dissatisfied with the deceitful advertising of this machine!

Never understood why all thought an over locker surge was so great until I bought this Janome. Great machine, threads easily, and a joy to use. Saves lots of time and gives me stitch-freedom. It’s a metal case which really helps with balance, and even changing needles is not hard. I am very pleased with this machine and very happy my sewing mentor suggested it. More expensive than a Brother or other, but worth it.

I purchased this serger to replace a White Serger that was no longer operational. Worse mistake ever. I consider myself quite experienced with the use of a serger- as I have been using them for over 20 years. Machine is impossible to thread. Instruction manual is useless. Tension difficult to adjust & thread keeps breaking . Forget doing rolled edges- as finished product is horrible. I “threw in the towel” & purchased a Babylock ( which I love!)

I like the serger but did not receive the bonus package as described. I emailed but never heard back. I did choose this vendor due to the added bonus package so am disappointed.

This is a wonderful serger. I have had no problems with it. It come pre threaded . I have threaded it from myself without any problems. The tension is great creating a beautiful stitch. It sews very much like my 25 year old bernette. Which unfortunately I wore out. It's not a fancy machine . If you want a good basic serger, you will be happy with this machine.

I had a home serger about 20 years ago that got lost in a move and I never replaced it. I remember it being possible but difficult to thread, especially the lower looper. When I decided to invest in another one, I thought seriously about getting one of those with auto-threading of the loopers. Because I am just getting back into sewing, I just couldn't justify the cost of one of those. I am so happy that I decided to purchase this one. I tried tying on the new threads when I first got it but one of the threads broke so I ended up having to thread it from scratch. It took quite some time for me to figure it out the first time, but this was because I wasn't reading the instructions in the manual as closely as I should have. I have completed several projects now and I have switched out the threads several times. For me, it is MUCH easier and faster to just thread it than to tie on the new threads to the old. It works smoothly and is FAST. I'm really enjoying it!!!The only negative is that the DVD was not included. I ended up ordering it for an extra $20. Most of the information on the DVD can be found on YouTube, but watching the threading on the DVD was helpful.
