The black aluminum painted frame is (it's standard packing is with *no *protection metal on metal parts); packed in box directly on top of steel painted foot stirrup. The stirrup pitted and rubbed away the black powder-coating/paint on that part of the frame and trigger-guard. (I returned a prior other model from this oem for the very same reason; prior to even opening the box I heard the metal on metal - and was damaged.Paint, back of the sight mount is missing/transparently thin - metal shows through, was "missed". I can't tell if paint or "powder-coating"; my experience with powder-coating is it's pretty tough and would not damage as this has.One of the Bolts/Arrows "Nocks" is missing, never installed (is not in the box); it can't be used without one (the plastic end piece that engages the string when fired). One of the Bolts on the Red-Dot Scope, the rear adjustable one to mount to the ramp, is to short - it can't be threaded/tightened to the mount properly (not threaded easily/permenantly/tightly) like the forward stationary bolt can be and is longer; it's ~4mm short. It will constantly loosen and eventually strip with to few threads engaged in the nut/knob.The Bow's clamping spacer, the metal one that receives the Hex-bolt to tighten to the Frame has no "divit" spot (as all do ), so that it will remain stationary while being secured. This is a very important part that should lock in and does not; it actually "screws out" the side of the slot while attempting to tighten the Hex-bolt down against it. A typical user would likely not have a way to correct this metal part ("finish" making it as it should be provided), or know to do it if has no experience with this "Starter" crossbow. Moreover, one needs to know to tighten this bolt periodically (no instructions for this), especially *initially* when may it WILL the most as it settles in during first assembly. If a crossbow is shot with a loose bow to frame mount - that WILL be hazardous for the user and surroundings (people, property) - launching the Bolt/Arrow in an arbitrary direction. This crossbow does *not have an "anti-dry-fire" safety. Once cocked, if one "forgets" to load a Bolt/Arrow - it WILL fire the unloaded String without one = dry-fire. (It is usually an additional block/tab, like the "Safety-button" - that is pushed out of the way by an arrows end while being loaded in.) Dry-firing, done repeatedly (this being a recurve design) - parts failure WILL occur; (even 1x - but, hopefully any unit made today could withstand "a" dry-fire as "new"). This being a lower power/tension - 150lb to 175lb draw weight may lead some to think it maybe "okay" - eventually, no, it won't be.It is hard to evaluate the actual "draw-weight" of this units limb without a draw-board - however, to me, it does not feel like 175lb draw-weight. Many OEM's, concerned with this being identified "normally" otherwise build the Limbs for a higher draw weight, e.g., 180 or even slightly more. The Foot Stirrup - the powder coating on the Frame is not cleaned out of the threads and one risks with a dry bolt thread, stripping or "side-threading" these two very important bolts that hold the Cross-bow down while you pull UP toward your face/head/chest/groin. One would be wise to "wax" the threads a bit and carefully hand thread in/out a bit prior to attaching the stirrup. In my opinion, these bolts should be two per side which it appears may have been designed for having two, but only has one; or, they'd need to be more *robust" with lock washers so one could assuredly tighten them. I feel that both - two per side and more robust (larger diameter thread spec) is a safety element I'd not skip (or do my self in time if kept this).

I like this crossbow. Price was reasonable for a newbie like me. Being completely new to this style of hunting, the instructions could have used a "Get to know your Crossbow"...other wise I like it!

My 13 year old was very excited to receive this. However, being uneducated in "weaponry", I did not realize that 175lb draw means that only my husband can pull it back. The good news is that dad HAS to be around in order for my son to use it :)

This crossbow package is great for the price! The sling, quiver and red dot sight it comes with are pretty good but the aluminum bolts just don't cut it, make sure you buy some carbons. The crossbow itself is pretty good and shoots great, just don't ever dry fire it, even with the cable that helps you put on a new string. And if it seems to make too much noise, twist the string about ten times and that should do the trick. Also don't forget to buy wax for the string, the tube that it comes with is rail lube which should only be put on the rail every five shots. Anyway, this crossbow package is a great buy!

Great bow. Picture leaves the impression its a small fragile toy but its very hefty and sturdy, works great. Not sure if other reviews mentioned but this comes with everything, 4 bolts, Stringer, string/rail wax, dot and normal scope, shoulder strap, quiver and allen wrenches for assembly. Only thing it doesn't include is a cocking device, definitely worth getting since it's halves the pull to cock and it can be used to un-cock the crossbow instead of dry-firing or buying special un-cocking bolts.

I like it but I am still figuring out the sights without the scope...I will add a scope eventually but wanted to see how accurate it is without the scope. Normally I am fairly accurate with a pistol or rifle but this is new and I am still having fun figuring it out. Super powerful so exercise extreme caution will having fun.
