Designed by a batik artist, tjanting tools have a long barrel for excellent control. When in use, the fill hole and spout remain in an upright position so the hot wax does not spill. The brass spout and barrel are silver soldered together and mounted to a varnished hard wood handle. This package contains one 6.75 inch tjanting tool. Made in the USA.

Like most of these tools you have to smack it with a hammer to make sure it don't just pop off.

The width of the item in the photo on the listing was compressed - it actually looks like any other tjanting pen. Seems ok.

not as pictured it is hard stainless not brass as pictured. I have been using tjant's for years and these the wax just flows straight through SAVE YOUR MONEY unless you just need a funnel then these are for you

Poor quality item, and edge at spout was sharp and rough. Overpriced for the quality. Wasn't brass coloured either.

Very cool and functional. Followed other reviewers' tips on taping to make sure it didn't leak at the point where metal joined wood. Love using this tool!

I did a leak test and found that the join between the metal and wood was not sealed. A little teflon tape and now it's fine. Wax would probably plug it up anyway but I just wanted to be safe before I poured hot wax into it.

Batik watercolor isn't exactly an exacting medium but the two I ordered both leak around the handle. Duct tape stops the leak but I cant leave them in the hot metal pan with the duct tape on them. They are ok but will leak without sealing it around he handle.
