Smooth finish is not the best for charcoal but good for graphite and ink

The price is great for this newsprint pad. In drawing classes, we usually use 5 sheets, and I never feel guilty for my practice drawings! It's smooth and what I've come to expect from newsprint paper.

This product is extremely sufficient for drawing. The surface is perfect and I would highly recommend it.

I got this to try my hand at doing larger gesture drawings than I typically create. This pad comes with lots of low cost paper. The backing is strong enough to lean on the edge of desk and prop up . The glue holds the pages in well when I flip them back. Overall, a great easy way to make a lot of bag drawings for not too much money.

Good price. Needed for art class. Works well so far with vine charcoal, charcoal and graphite pencils. Bends easily.

I found this paper to be rougher textured than Canson or Strathmore products. It holds even charred willow stick marks which on other papers are easily wiped off. This is good and bad depending on what you're looking to do. I found that this absorbency makes it a little tough to erase fully and it can be a little bleedy. It really grabs markings though so I like that about it. It's reasonably priced and has this unusual spongy texture.

The pad was packaged very well - no dents or dings. It is well bound and you can easily flip the page over and draw on the back of the sheet. Excellent pad for children to draw on - gives them plenty of room to create a masterpiece!
