these are great and i was super surprised they didn’t give me any rubbing or issues on the very first day! i spent more money to get the green ones and am so happy i did. they’re also very protective and you hardly feel a thing when hitting something. very pleased.

I've only used these a few times so far, but you barely notice them when you're riding. I never wore pads in the past, but getting some bad rash on a fall, these were my next purchase. Thankfully I haven't fully tested the protection (no crash..yet), but they seem like they'll do the trick if I do go rubber side up.Measure yourself for sizing. I followed the chart online and it fits great.

I've been riding MTBs for about 8 years. I ride single track (Blue to double black trails) and I do a lot of jumping on the trail. My local ride is about 2 hours and I ride twice a week. What I like. These are lightweight knee pads. They stay in place very well. The lower velcro strip is perfect for stopping the pad from sliding down. What I don't like: They're a little hot for 85 degree heat. In my experience the pads run slightly small. So if you're at the upper end of a large you'll need an X-large. If you're right in the middle of the range you'll stay there. You'll have to take off your shoes to put on and remove. I think these pads are perfect for single track, but don't provide enough protection for bike parks or for some of the more technical free ride trails.

They are very comfortable. Not exactly lightweight. But any lighter would not offer the same amount of protection. The pad inserts feel very durable and strong. They seem to run pretty small. I’m about 200 lbs. I guess I have pretty big legs. The large I couldn’t even pull up over my knee. I got the xxl. Fit very comfortably. Slide up easily and they don’t slip down. They are expensive but you get what you’re paying for. They don’t feel cheap and I think they’ll last a long time. They also look pretty good. I don’t like the idea of sporting a big fox logo on my knees. Very happy with them. Would recommend.

I only received the one knee pad in the package, not sure what happened. The knee pad that came was good quality, as I would expect from IXS but regardless not useful. Amazon returned quickly but they were out of stock to get a replacement set sent so I ended up with my money back and no purchase option so..... not a great purchase experience but all is well that ends well? Pads are great.... if you get 2!

I was a bit hesitant at first, but I needed something to protect my knees after having small falls......I'm stubborn :) Anyway I rode with these and you really forget they are on after a bit of riding. SUPER breathable as advertised and stayed in the proper place after the ride when I checked :) Very happy with them. Was gonna get the POC VPDs but this one is DEF more breathable behind the knee and I needed that. rides well - meaning even during climbs i didn't need to move them down to my shins at all. They do run on the small side so get one size up. I thought I was a small and I have thinner legs after the knees and have a thigh radius on the smaller side. But IU sent back the Small and got a Medium. Perfect fit :)

I'm a trail rider, meaning I'm pedaling UP to then go downhill. I'm also older than I once was so it was time to make sure and wear some protection! These pads are a great solution and are super comfortable for 2-3 hour rides, even in the SoCal heat. Up or down these things feel really good. I've crashed a couple times on them and they have definitely saved my knees. If you're looking for something that's good for all around riding, I think these are a solid choice.

Having tried other pads in the past, many with hard shells, the flexible Xmatter knee caps in these were a revelation! I honestly pretty much forget I'm wearing them on all day rides, including climbs, and often even put them on before I leave the house at all just to save time at the trailhead. Only when temps pass the 80* F mark does heat retention become an issue, but seriously, what wouldn't?Protection for straight on hits works great, though I have shredded my shins once as these do not extend down as far as a full sleeve, but I knew that going in. I ride them on my trail bike and my BMX so they've met multiple different surfaces from gravel to hardpack to concrete with no visible signs of wear this whole season. The elastic and grippers are holding up well and placing the velcro below the knee, in my opinion, is genius.Sizing is true to the advice offered - I have 19" (48cm) thighs and the XL fits like a glove. Will definitely be buying other iXS gear based off my experience with these!
