I didn't believe these would work, but my wife wanted to try it. We inserted one in our trash can and I has worked for 4 months so far.

I doubt the coarse granules of this scentless carbon filter would do much to absorb odor. Nevertheless, this Arm & Hammer commercial grade deodorizer got the highest reviews so far as mitigating trash can odor, so I purchased this kit just to use the stick-on vent (with my own 3M tape - as I'll confirm the lack of adhesion from other reviews). I also ordered these cheap satchels to put the powder in but it's a very fine grain and comes right out. So I carefully sliced open the included filter from this product, dumped out the presumably useless carbon pebbles, and filled it with the deodorizer powder. I sealed it with the same 3M tape, which may/may not be a pain to remove when I need to change the powder in a month or so but it works for now. There was a pungent banana peel in there just a minute ago that has since conveniently vanished :)

Tried using this for dog poop trash can. The sticker failed when the temperature is slightly hot (tried it in spring). I double back the dog poop before putting it in the trashcan and this thing didn't even help with the odor.

I got this for our motion activated trash can. It does a great job of controlling odor, but the first one we put on there straight up fell into the trash because the sticky part wasn't strong enough! And I didn't notice until the trash started to get smelly again, so that one was a lost cause. The second one fell in too, but this time I caught it and used the 3M adhesive, which also fell off. (It's not that heavy, but I think the material doesn't adhere well.) So, finally I put velcro strips on the back, and it worked like a charm :)

The advesive is not strong to stay attached to the lids of the trach container. This is the second brand of this item I have tried both will not stay attached to the lid they fall off. The adhesive needs to bee a lot stronger.

It’s small and I can stick to the lid of the garage can. But the filter doesn’t help with the oder. It supposed to last for 3 months. Didn’t last for two weeks. I will buy other filters to try in it.
