Great clamp. I like the newer option to be able to use it to spread as well as clamp. It slides well and is easy to clamp and release.

Used it to build small table, it is easy to use and the quick release clamp is efficient.I also got a few 6 inches and a pair of 12 inches clamp to help with my projects. A single 24 inch clamp helps with larger pieces of wood.

These clamps are great. Easy to use and they don't break. You only need one hand to clamp them, leaving your other hand free to line up the pieces. Great when you are working on projects alone. Not just for gluing stuff, these can give you extra hands while making decks, furniture, etc. You can level a board and then lock it in place, then go back and secure it with screws.Yes, you can buy some that look almost identical from other manufacturers for much less money, but these don't break. IE - I bought 6 HF clamps a few years ago, but they ALL broke in the first 30 seconds of use - not exaggerating. You will probably buy more of these, but only because they are so useful, not because they break. My oldest Irwin Quick clamps are 15+ yrs old and still working great.Only think to avoid is leaving them outside in the rain all week, as they will rust if you do, and then they don't work very well (but you can wire brush them back to life)

I bought this to help in the replacement of slings on our patio chairs. The chairs had two steel spreader bars that were nearly impossible to put back in after the new slings were put in the side rails. This reversible clamp gradually pushed the two sides apart allowing the bars to seat into their mounting holes.Swapping the end to become a clamp was easy and was useful to pull the seat frame in alignment with the chair base and hold it in place so I could put the hardware back in.Incredible little tool with great versatility. The hard rubber grips helped keep things in place, but weren't so soft they slipped around.

Bought these for my boyfriend as he’s a woodworker and some of his others had worn out. He swears they are the best clamps he owns and trust me, he owns a lot of them!

I bought this set to jerry rig into fishing pole holders at the pier. Did not work for that purpose, but they are good clamps and I've had more of these. Again, I really did not need a pair, but there seemed to be no way to buy just one that I saw.I am very pleased by these clamps. They have a very positive and sturdy mechanism, and they develop more clamping pressure than those I've used in the past. They hold their set clamping force without the gradual slippage. All moving parts that are involved in producing and holding the clamping pressure are made from fairly heavy metal. The actual handles are plastic, and the actual clamping jaws seem to be made from a fiber-reinforced plastic of some sort, which are heavier built and apparently sturdier than other ones. The slip-on pads on the jaws are not the greatest, but they seem to do the job well enough.PRO:1. Price per foot.2. Brand.3. Reputation.CON:1. Lacks some of the 'kool' features a more expensive set would have.2. Can't buy just one.3. Plastic can snap over the years, but that plastic keeps the price down.OTHER:BUY if you want reliable product.DON'T BUY if you are wanting top shelf product, that'll cost ya more $$.

These are well-made and very convenient clamps. I have only used them for one project so far (hanging five slab doors), but everything I used these clamps, they did what I wanted, did what I needed, and were never a part of the problem, only a part of the solution. My only issue is with the release mechanism. I had to struggle a little bit sometimes to get it to pop free. Also, with the release lever depressed, I had some difficulty sliding open the clamps. This is not unexpected or disappointing -- I figure it will take a little practice to get good at releasing and sliding the clamps. The trigger action clamping is so convenient that its well worth learning how to finesse the other parts.I am glad I got the 12" clamps. When I initially envisioned how I might use these clamps, I thought perhaps the shorter clamps would be all I needed and might be easier to wield. But then I realized I didn't know what I might actually need and I figured it was safer to have too much clamp than too little. Well, I ended up using these to clamp my work piece onto huge posts and to inset legs on a workbench, even the railing on some stairs. Having the extra throw was so helpful -- I was able to use all sorts of imagination for how to hold the work piece with these.Invaluable when working alone.
