It works! Used this on a very small bolt on my bike. (see pics)Used the smallest drill bit to drill into the bolt I was using. I then hammered in the 2nd smallest extractor and slowly turned it counter clock wise with a pair of vice grips by hand.Worked like a charm! Would highly recommend!

It worked. As in another review, the drill bit drove the broken end deeper. Not a problem but I wondered if I could have saved time and effort with a left hand twist drill bit.

Had 2 stripped hex screws in a tight spot. Tried all sorts of tricks and tools from rubber band to the easy out extractor tool but nothing worked until this. Based on my limited experience in using this set, I found it critical to drill slow and deep enough in order to hammer the extractor bit in for a tight fit. If the hole is not deep enough, the extractor won't fit tightly no matter how hard you hammer it. I used a vice grip to rotate the extractor bit to take the screw out. Took 2 screws out and the drill bit and extractor still looked sharp. I used the #1 extractor and the smallest drill bit in the kit.

Thought it would come with reverse drill bits, nope. But it still got the broken bolt out so 5 stars.

I tried to remove 2 screws whose heads were stripped. Broke the smaller two bits. Perhaps it was my technique that was at fault, but I can't recommend these. Also, I had searched Amazon for left-handed bits, found this product in amongst the ads for left-handed bits, but never realized these were NOT what I was looking for. So now that I broke 2 I can resume my search.

They work well enough for the requirements I have at work. The pouch is kind of crappy, but the bits and extractors are what metter.

I had a Stainless Steel screw with the head broken off in the transom of my boat. Using the smallest drill in this kit along with cutting fluid and a good steady drill/hand, I was eventually able to drill a hole deep enough to use the extractor successfully. Stainless Steel is a pain to drill and takes time, but the drill bit did not burn out and/or go blunt.Using Extractors/easy-outs is not a job for everyone, it is easy to apply crooked pressure and break them off inside the hole. For bigger stuff it easier to weld on an extra bolt but I did not have this option as I was working with a small screw in fiberglass/wood. That said for what these are I found them to be of good quality.

Admittedly, this is one person's experience so take this with a grain of salt. But I am completely satisfied with this product and definitely recommend it. I had a small bolt sheer off flush in a delicate piece of machinery. After trying a few stupid ideas to get it out with my tools on hand, I gave in and ordered these. I was a tad bit skeptical, but turns out I shouldn't have been. I recommend tapping a small indent first with a center punch; this makes guiding the drill bit easier. I did this, and was soon well on my way. After drilling the pilot hole, I tapped in the extractor with a few gentle hammer taps, then used some pliers to hand-rotate the extractor. It came out flawlessly, which saved me from some very ugly hack saw work. Again, I highly recommend this. There are videos online that show some of secrets to using this tool; I imagine it's possible to screw this up, so learn first and then go for it.

Don't expect these to be magical.I am pretty easy on tools, but these aren't that tough. On one stuck bolt, the first one I used broke without even giving up a fight. The 2nd one grabbed well, but then it bent like a piece of licorice.I would recommend these for very light-duty work.Fortunately Amazon was amazing in the return process.

Bought this extractor kit after one of the main bolts on rear rack of my commuter bike (bicycle) sheared off. I'm a pretty aggressive rider and since this is my rain bike I have plenty of gear loaded on the rack. This kit is really amazing BUT make absolutely sure you pre-drill that pilot hole deep enough! First few tries just weren't enough and I was very frustrated with the extractor. Since this was a pretty small bolt and not all that long I ended up drilling all the way through. Hammered the extractor in there an BAM, backed out no problem.I suggest this quick test for pilot hole depth: If you hammer the extractor into the pilot hole and it's in there pretty well, doesn't wiggle around and feels solid, THEN you're ready to back it out. Otherwise the extractor will spin without biting.Good luck!
