best price I could find, well balance, strong and durable, however, I think the magnetic nail holder could be useful in situation where you can't reach with both hands (one holding the nail the other the hammer) but if you trying to hammer the nail on a tight corner, that magnetic opening may work against you.

Nicely machined. Very useful features, and quite sturdy. I wanted a larger size for occasional light demolition, and this one definitely does the job. I've had great luck with nearly all my Irwin tools, especially considering the price. I purchased the 20 oz as well, which has a smooth face - great hammer too.

I'm not a professional contractor, though I do like to tinker and DIY around the house. This thing is solid. Would recommend. My brother, who is a professional contractor, also gave this thing the stamp-of-approval.

The hammer is a very nice hammer but the description says smooth face which it is not smooth face.

I have the Irwin 20oz hammers and consider them on a par with my Estwing hammers. This hammer has a milled face which is no problem because I have a coarse file. I’ll make it a smooth, flat faced hammer. I like the hatchet style handle.
