Padding was ok. I actually just put it on and then put the ironing board cover on top of it and tightened the tension to make it fit. I didn’t cut it to shape. I do wish it was a tad thicker.

This is very easy to cut to size and put under your ironing board cover for extra padding. I cut it about an inch larger than the board all around, so it would fold over the edges a little and stay in place. Really turns your ironing board into a "deluxe" version. I could see this padding being really useful for various sewing/craft projects too. I have a small tabletop board so I did not use the whole piece of padding, and am envisioning all the uses for the leftover piece (e.g. using for padding inside a hat brim, backpack straps, etc.)

I had more than enough padding to cover my ironing board, with plenty left over to cover both sides of my small ironing board for making doll clothes. The padding has a high loft that doesn't seem likely to compress much over time. It cuts to size easily with scissors, and I could even use a heat-erasable pen to trace the dimensions of my ironing board. It fits perfectly under a standard ironing board cover. Overall, this is a must-have for anyone who regularly irons their clothes.

I purchased a wonky ironing board at a thrift store years ago and was determined to bring it back to life since it was quite sturdy and large. I made myself a cover with fabric I had on hand years ago, but I failed to use ironing-board specific padding and I have paid for it over the years! The batting I had on hand just held onto the steam and sent it back onto what I was ironing, kept it hot and made it almost impossible to touch because it retained the heat so much. I resolved to find the proper batting, and promptly forgot about it. Enter this perfectly made item for my search! The batting of the proper kind was nice and sturdy, the correct length for a full size ironing board, and easy to cut into the right shape. Highly recommend.

I ordered an ironing board cover that claimed to be the “thickest”. It still felt like I was ironing right on top of the metal ironing board. The original cover had a foam mat but it didn’t hold up. This pad goes under the cover but provides that thickness that you need for a good press. And it looks like it will hold up much better then the foam pad that came with the ironing board.

I've only ever seen board padding after it's been thoroughly crushed by the years, so I'm not certain if this is fluffy or super-fluffy, but it's definitely a lot fluffier than what I had! It was easy to lay out, though it did take a little effort at cutting it; it's dense and thick. Once I got it cut to the right shape, it did take several tries before I got the board cover over it without crumpling the padding. I think it's because the board cover has a fuzzy layer underneath and it'd stick to the padding (and worse, it's elastic instead of drawstring).Overall, it seems like a competitive price, and my fabric's not getting embossed with the metal fretwork that forms the board's bottom level. Win-win.———————————————————————————————stars are based on: does it do (and is it) what the listing says/promises?5★ = exceeds | 4★ = satisfies | 3★ = minor issues | 2★ = major issues | 1★ = FAIL

I didn't realize how long I had been using the same ironing board and cover until the padding was so flat that I was hitting metal on the edge of the board. I laid this pad on the floor and set the ironing board upside down on top of it and cut around the board, leaving about an inch margin. I stuck the new pad in between the cover and old pad and put the cover back on and it's like new!

My old ironing board cover was flattened and worn on the inside, but the outer material was fine. I laid out this nice thick fabric, put the board on top and drew with a sharpie around the edge. Then I cut out the new padding two more inches outside the line I made, so the final piece fit over my board and around the edges. I put it under the old cover, and it worked like a charm. You will have to cut this padding, it comes as a rectangle, and most boards have that one pointed end. But any sharp scissors will do, it was easily handled. Ironing with this pad underneath was much much improved over our old flattened cover.
