It's bigger than I thought, I'm 5'11, 215 pounds, and I can stretch out in it underwater. When the pool is over-filled by 2 or 3 inches, the water is about 10 or so inches deep(my patio is not level, so it's deeper at the bottom end, maybe 12 inches deep, and 8 inches deep at the top. This inflatable pool by Intex works perfectly, and I'm really surprised at the durability even overfilled and possibly over-inflated.After adding the water I also added some more air, and then I did have to inflate it again after a couple days, but I think it's because I slightly under-inflated it the first time.I've only had it for a few days, but I'm so enthusiastic about this product that I had to show my pictures, then I ended up writing all this. It's so refreshing on a hot day, and a great excuse to get outside and soak up some sunshine. It's very easy to inflate, and the suggested optional cover (not included) fits perfectly and is easy to use, the suggested pump (not included) also works flawlessly.I like it so much I bought an extra one and paid more for it to be delivered faster.Thank you Intex.UPDATE: I added some more air to the bottom and top sections, and it held for a couple weeks, then after a few weeks I started having to re-inflate the top part, but it could be because I over-inflated it to begin with. Initially, I disinfected the pool using bleach, but once that didn't work because the bottom got disgusting and slimy, I drained the pool, and scrubbed it with dish-soap and a sponge, then I started using using chlorine tablets. So I'm not sure what effect that might've had on the rubber and/or seals/seams. Anyway, once the top part deflated and the temperature got below 80, I decided it was time to recycle the plastic. The water was always really cold.

I thought I would post both a review and my suggestions for solutions to the issues with the cover and pool clarity.Firstly, the pool: check the dimensions when buying as it is quite big - perfect for my three young children to jump around in and it would easily fit 4 adults as a lounge pool. It fills to about 1ft depth, but you can put a lot less in for small children. The sides are quite strong when inflated, so it does not need water volume to remain in shape. You must ensure it's level and not near any 'head cracking' dangers as the floor of the pool is slippery even when the water is clean.Secondly, the set-up: I did not fancy having to empty this frequently as it takes a lot of water (max capacity is around 200 gallons). I therefore made the following set-up: (1) exercise mats to go underneath the pool. I bought two packs of 6 x 24" square 'jigsaw' exercise mats and they create a perfectly-sized base for the pool. This will protect your kids and the pool from any hard or rough surface under the pool. (2) footbath to keep the gunk out. I bought an 'inflatabuffet', which does the job nicely. (3) cover - tricky! The reviews of the covers are very mixed and they're very expensive. I bought an 8ft by 10ft piece of garden mosquito netting and 1/8 inch 25ft shockcord. The pool has a ridge halfway up, which means the shockcord will stay snug to the pool, then you simply lay over the mosquito net and tuck it in for a perfect seal all round. This keeps the bugs and leaves out, but lets the rain in - so no sagging in poor weather. I would not recommend this if you have dogs as the neeting is not strong, however, it's cheap and easy and works to keep the pool clear overnight. (4) water quality. I use a small amount of household bleach and bought the Aquacheck test strips. The manufacturer website will give you bleach dosage and the test strips will ensure your pool is OK for your kids at each use. This set up cost just over $100 in total. My kids are delighted!

This pool is super easy to set up - just a couple of minutes to blow up with an electric pump, and it takes us about an hour to fill up as our water pressure is not great. We had a larger inflatable pool last year (10ft), but after a few weeks we could not be bothered with the filter and it contained so much water it was a real chore to empty it. This pool is a perfect size for a couple of adults to sit in/kids to splash about in, and you can easily drain the water out, let the air out and pack it away until the next warm weekend. It feels really sturdy when up, holds its shape nicely, and you can comfortably sit against the walls. I love the way the outer sides are clear so when the sun shines through it all you see is the cool lime green interior of the pool. It is great value and great fun and I would really recommend it!

ENJOY A STAY-AT-HOME TROPICAL VACATION AT CHEAPER PRICES.I Thank Amazon.com for a good product, great price and excellent shipping and handling of this item. The pool is for a Stay-At-Home Tropical Beach Spa Relaxation Time. Put down tarp, pour some clean sand around, turn on tropical relaxation music and dvd of similar nature on portable dvd player. Put warm water in the pool and sea salts and sit back and relax in an economical Stay at Home Tropical Vacation. I may also use my small/portable Turbo Spa in the pool for an almost jaccuzi effect. Only have to read up on what can and can not be used with this unit. Sea Salts may leave a residue of salts (if units is not thoroughly cleaned after use) and salts can clog the unit when dried. Same goes for the pool. Should clean it thoroughly before deflation and putting up for a season.Have a Stay-at-Home Tropical Spa, where you really rest and relax. Not in having to spend a fortune to travel to a distant place and be exposed to who knows what in the motel/hotels/restaurants and spend all your time being stressed trying to make the best value of the bucks spent for a vaction of a few days. Have the fruity spa water and tropical snacks on the side. AND, sleep in your own clean and healthy bed at night without all the stress and expenses of traveling there and coming back.I don't think this is a foolish idea. Especially when people are always trying to be health conscious and conservative in budget expenses for vacations. At least I can revisit my tropical vacation spot more than once in a season and have it available for future years, however long the pool holds up. Could even try the $1 Tree Store for tropical decorations to enhance the feeling of being in the tropics. Place these decorations on a canopy covering for the entire atmosphere or put all the items inside a portable screened gazebo to be free of annoying bugs. I am sure all these wonderful items can be found on Amazon.com and the total value is far less than an expensive tropical vacation of a few days duration and wishing to revisit is not economical. These are just my ideas for a less expensive way to have a luxury time on a Budget.THANK YOU AMAZON.COM You helped me plan and make possible a stress free vacation at home.
