I am very pleased with this purchase. This piece is quality, heavy and solid wood! I read the reviews and everyone spoke of the quality, so I ordered. I appreciate all of the reviews and will add mine to the high quality of this peace. I began painting the legs and base black to match my kitchen, but left the top natural. The stain didn't take well and since it is not a true butcher's block top, I decided to paint the top black as well and like it very much. I sealed the paint and will use a cutting board on top. I do not like the wooden pegs and replaced with more decorative accessories and bought some metal baskets to finish the design. I cannot say enough about the solid quality of this peace, you won't be disappointed.

Couldn't be happier. It's so nice to assemble furniture that doesn't feel cheap or fake. Enjoyed the process of finishing the butcher block and drawers + painting the rest. Hope this lasts a long time.

The first one was broken. Amazon took it back and sent another quickly!!! Our second came unharmed. My husband was very impressed with how sturdy it was and easy to assemble. Very happy customer! This will be my sour dough work station!! Yippee

What a great piece, we love it. It is really high quality and a very sturdy (heavy) island. We painted the bottom white and just left the trays and the top natural and oiled it. The size is perfect too, not too small but not huge. I looked for a small sturdy island with a butcher block to that was at least 3" thick but I didn't want to spend more than 200.00. Many were just rickety-looking and the nicer ones were ridiculously expensive. This one is just perfect and a great price!

Very nice and sturdy piece, especially for the price. It also has a handy smooth operating drawer. My only issue was it was a little difficult for one person to put together (the shelves were hard to hold still and secure at the same time, the legs were a little difficult to secure with the drawer rail in the way) but I managed. Overall I highly recommend this item. As you can see it comes unfinished (but it's very smooth so no pre-sanding was required before finishing). I stained the top and covered that with four coats of polyurethane. I also painted the legs and shelves to match my kitchen cabinets.

I love that this was a unfinished product! It allowed us to make it our own style. It was easy to pain, easy to assemble and crazy sturdy. I decided to paint the legs a gray blue, butcher block oil the top. We get so many compliments on it

I make jewelry, and was looking for a table to bolt my rolling mill to that wouldn't move. The other option I was considering was a Durston Titan table at these times the price! This fits the bill, and saved me a boatload of money. Handsome, sturdy, and easy to assemble. Weighs a ton!

Very solid piece that was very easy to assemble. It is unfinished, so make sure you have the ability to sand it (it needed a quick hit with 180-->220 grit before refinishing.) and put some sort of oil or sealer on it. I did a mineral oil and beeswax mix for the finish (food safe, easy to maintain) and it looks great. If you do a sealer (like WaterLox or urethane) you can't cut on the the top. The one negative is that the drawer pulls are super cheap, and the drawer itself is just not super solid. It is not really an issue at all, but I prefer drawers that are solid with little play in the pulls. If you want a butcher block style piece, this is great, and for the price, you can't beat it! Most other butcher block top islands are more than two or three times the price of this. I recommend this and would but it again.
