I use this for my expresso coffee I make each day and it’s perfect. I especially like the spot on the thermometer that lets you know when the milk is hot enough

Attaches easily to bowl and readout is easy while attached. Of course I haven't compared the temp accuracy but the yeast likes it and acts like it should so I assume it is accurate.

I used this for gauging the temperature of the milk when I am steaming it to make a latte. I like the marked temperature on the dial that notes a "safe" temperature that I use for a child's hot chocolate. For lattes, I heat 15-20 degrees hotter.

First let me tell you what I think you'd like to know. I have a digital thermometer, as well as an infrared thermometer, and compared them for accuracy. I was very pleased with this analog thermometer, as by comparison, it was right on. I personally have use for this as a meat thermometer, and used it to make a turkey, just a few days ago. For checking the internal temperature, it was very handy, and I trusted it completely. It resulted in one of the best turkeys I have ever made, not that the thermometer is responsible for that, but it did help me in judging my cooking times. Obviously, you can use it to measure whatever food item you desire, and it'll be competent at presenting you a temperature. So, it works great, and I personally like the look of the old analog faces. As someone who owns a lot of digital kitchen equipment, it's nice to see the old dial and numbers. I do recommend it.

This thermometer is a high quality product and bears the NSF mark indicating it is certified safe for use with food. I compared its reading to other thermometers of known accuracy and it matched them quite well. The instructions indicate that immersion of at least 5 cm (~2 inches) is required - I tested that, and it appears to be correct. Some thermometers I’ve looked at require deeper immersion for accurate reading. How “instant” is the reading? With the device at room temperature (68 F) I immersed it in 160 F water. It took about 20 seconds to read that temperature. This is as good or better than other dial type units I’ve tried. My best digital thermometer takes 5 seconds. The mounting clip allows positioning in a cup or pan for hands-free use. It works very well. The dial marking with the green indicator makes it very easy to read with a quick glance for making coffee/milk type drinks. Construction of this product is excellent in every way. I highly recommend it, especially for making beverages.

We received this thermometer to test the temperature of our drinks. The gauge works very quickly and is easy to clean up. We don’t have another gauge to see if it is accurate, but the drinks were very hot and the temperature on the gauge reflected that! Is was very easy to use and the clip hangs on the side of a Cooke cup perfectly. We will also use this gauge to test our chicken instead of cutting it open every 5 minutes. Since chicken is considered cooked at 165 degrees we don’t even have to worry any more we will just stick the gauge in it and let it cook. We enjoyed using this gauge and will use it often!

I compared this analog thermometer to my digital bonavita digital kettle and the holding temperature readings were spot on between the kettle display and this analog thermometer. Once I was able to confirm the readings were the same, I gained confidence that it's other readings were accurate too. This has helped me troubleshoot some coffee brewing that always seemed a little off. Turns out it wasn't getting up to the proper temperature. Only thing I'm a little confused by was the green 'zone' on the dial. It's not hot enough to be the brew temperature, I'm thinking it might be the serving temperature for coffee. Not sure.
