This Instant Pot is a game-changer! It's basically a kitchen appliance in itself. I love that it does everything from pressure cooking to air frying, and the results are always amazing. The recipes in the app are easy to follow and delicious. It's definitely a splurge, but worth every penny if you love to cook.

I've used this for pressure cook and airfry, I knew the instant pot before, and works perfect, there are improvements in the lid that make ventilation easier and the handles in the pot are just what it needed. The airfry function works great, I chose this over the Ninja Foodie because of the stainless steel pot and it was a good choice.

I love my old instant pot, so when I was looking for a new one and saw that the version with the air fryer lid I was sold (after reading some reviews to make sure it wasn't terrible lol). I've been wanting an air fryer but couldn't justify another appliance when I wasn't sure I would use it that often.I like the display, although I miss being able to hit the pressure cook button (or whatever setting you're using) to switch between three saved cook times and adjust from there, since pressure cooking times vary wildly. I do find adjusting the settings to be easier to figure out and more intuitive than the old "duo" version that I had, although setting the time from 5 minutes to 90 minutes by spinning the little dial is annoying. The air fryer works fine- I can't compare it to a stand-alone model since I've never used one, but I made asparagus on the bottom rack and halibut on the top rack made with an egg wash, then a seasoned flour and Parmesan coating and both came out great. Nice and crispy compared to what I would have gotten in the oven.I can also see myself using the sous vide option occasionally. I sous vide very infrequently by heating water to temp, then putting the pan in the oven on the lowest temp and monitoring the digital thermometer I use. Without a circulator, I expect the sous vide function is probably about the same level of effectiveness and accuracy, but easier. Maybe I'll do it more often now. If nothing else, I can use it to pasteurize eggs more easily for Caesar dressing and tiramisu.I can also see myself using the broil option occasionally. The instant pot is a pain to dig out since I keep it in the cupboard above my fridge, but if I already have it out it's probably quicker than the oven.I used to have a dehydrator and got rid of it because I have a smoker now, which is 100X better for jerky. But fresh herbs? Maybe! I usually freeze fresh herbs, but I've thought about making my own seasoning mixes with an old pepper mill I have laying around.ALSO, I have borosilicate dishes that I often use to make small loaves of banana bread. They will fit perfectly in the inner pot, so I'm going to see how the bake option works. It even came with a recipe for banana bread that made me think of it. I hate heating the full sized oven for 45+ minutes for one half sized loaf of banana bread! The air fryer lid is really a game changer. I'm excited to have a little mini convection oven with just a slightly larger footprint than before (having to store the lid). I considered getting the one with "the ultimate lid" that does everything, but the 8qt version is a must have for me, and it seems like it's just adding more things that can fail and making it more difficult to repair the lid and more expensive to replace if necessary.

For a long time I was against these gimmicky air fryers, because "why just not use the oven"? And sure you can, it will do pretty much the same thing, BUT...an air fryer is SO MUCH easier to cook with! It heats up in no time (as opposed to a giant oven), and food cooks quicker in it too, likely because of its smaller size compared to an oven. I consider myself an Instant Pot "pro", and already had 2 in my kitchen, the Duo 6qt and 8qt...and finally decided to get this Pro Crisp and replace my existing 8qt Duo with it. Smart decision as this Pro Crisp gives me a new type of kitchen appliance without sacrificing any more counter space!I like the new pot with handles, much easier to take it out after cooking. It cleans very easily too. Just pour some water in it and clean it right away, or let the water sit and clean it later - don't let the food weld itself into the pot!It comes with an additional inner pot for air frying, but I never use it...don't see the point. All it does is reduce the internal volume of the main pot and it's one more extra thing to clean. Instead I use a steam basket...or simply throw food right in the main pot. However, if you throw it straight in the pot, it will fry in its own juices and won't come out as crispy (but will come out more juicy)..which might not be a bad thing, it really depends on what you're going for. I enjoy doing it both ways. The new pressure cooking release valve is A LOT quieter than the one on the Duo. It doesn't shoot up into the air like a raging locomotive anymore. That's nice if you cook late at night and don't want to wake anyone up in the house.Yes, you do need to mix food for more even frying, but you do that usually just once. Ideally, you don't want to overload it with so much food that it stacks on top of itself. You can still do, but might need to mix it an extra time.It can also dehydrate, but I don't care for this as I already have a dedicated, proper dehydrator. Keep in mind that when you dehydrate, you absolutely can't stack food on top of itself, or else it will never fully dehydrate. With the Pro Crisp you can only dehydrate a tiny amount as you only get a single tray to lay your food on.This air fryer looks beautiful and modern. It's seems to be the same size as the Duo 8qt, except that it's quite a bit taller with the air fryer lid. It's very easy to use, I just really wish they would have the 3 different time adjustments for each program, as they do on the Instant Pot Duo. If I'm pressure cooking beans, the time will depend on the type of bean it is. With this I need to constantly set the time manually, where with my Instant Pot Duo I can just cycle through 3 preset times I have set. I don't feel it's big enough of a problem to take down a star overall, but something to be aware of.Once you buy it, you will be experimenting a ton with all your regular meals. In the picture I have pressure cooked quinoa (in the 6qt Duo) and air fried (separately) mushrooms and tofu, topped with some greens. Barely use the stove/oven anymore. Even microwave sees less action as you can easily reheat food in the air fryer AND fry something fresh at the same time!
