You might want to get a different coupling to mount on top of the hot water tank. The pump and timer get very hot mounted close to the tank. The valve is noisy (makes the pipes rattle, but so far it works for instant hot water. I would not let the pump run for more than one hour at a time due to the heat.

The sensor that is included with the pump knocks and makes so much noise that you have to leave the room. Amazon sent me a new sensor and the same problem. The pump and sensor were installed by a licensed plumber. So now I have to pay him again to replace a sensor! In addition, the pump has a 3 foot cord. To plug it in to an outlet you have to use an extension. I would expect that a 6 or 8 foot cord would be the standard. Moonshan reached out to me and will be sending a new sensor. I am not sure it will be any better than the old one supplied with the unit. I already had my plumber install a new plastic one which works fine. I have to at least give them credit for trying to address the problem. They also explained that in their new units a longer power cord is now being used. I am, therefore, adjusting my rating because they at least showed they care about their customers.

Installed as described in the Installation Manual. The pump works fine but the Bypass Sensory Valve failed immediately.Hot water comes out of the cold side faucet. Reached out to Moonshaan but no reply.

This hot water circulation pump by Moonshan is very convenient and trouble-free. I have a couple of hot water circulation pumps that work off of a different concept. Basically, they pump 24 hours per day. This one has a built-in timer that allows you to tailor operation to certain time slots. There is no sense in circulating hot water in the middle of the night or during the hours that you are at work. You just need to install the temperature sensing valve at the furthest faucet from your hot water tank, set the times that you want hot water at your sinks/tub/showers, and the pump does the rest. The quality of this system is quite good, even including the remote sensing valve. It is stainless steel, while even the most expensive name brand equivalent sensing valves are only plastic. This product does exactly what it promises. I located the return valve under the furthest sink and added about 30 feet of 1/2” pex pipe between the valve and the cold water side of the faucet so the cold side stays cold. My kitchen faucet used to take 3 minutes for the hot water to arrive. It now arrives in less than 10 seconds. Hot water is available quickly at all faucets throughout the house. I am extremely pleased with this product.

This pump is good for at least two projects. The first is listed in the description and that is circulating hot water to fixtures far away from the water heater giving instant hot water. My bath is at the opposite end of the house from the hot water heater so this is a big upgrade for me. The second is circulating hot water through heating lines. This is a cheap but decent heating system for floors. We have thought of using this system to heat our dog kennels. We would run heating tubing such as pex under the sleeping area heating their beds. With open dog doors, this is a more efficient heating system than trying to heat a building with door openings that are inefficient especially during windy days and nights.The pump has a timer to increase efficiency and items to install a recirculation system in your house. Instead of waiting a minute or two for hot water in the master bath, instant hot water is a luxury. In addition, our house is on a cement slab and water lines in the slab so once you turn the water off, it quickly cools to cold water so you have to wait once again. If you are in my situation, you will love this instant hot water system.
