These stair rods were so thin. Ordered pineapple ends and got the ends about. Useless to try and return when you use a chinese company.

I waited too long to open the box and look at these, and now I can't return them. As mentioned in another review, the metal rod appears to be thin and I worry that it will get bent easily - after all these are for the stairs, a high traffic area. Also, I didn't like that after they are attached, you have to remove the screws to remove the rug for cleaning. Because you have to remove and reinstall to clean the rug, you will eventually have problems with the screws not staying in the wood stair. There are other options out there, where there is a little swing arm so you can remove the rods, then the rug - no need to remove the screws. These are the ones that I thought I was ordering, and I was very disappointed when I finally opened the box. Not sure what to do with these, but I bought the other ones.

Too thin, i would buy a thicker rod to make the stairs pop. No worth the price.

We paid $320 for 15 of these and and right out of the box we felt unhappy. There is no weight to them as you would expect in a cheap product. We first noticed that they are NOT brass. They are some kind of cheap thin metal that looks like its been painted a polished brass appearance. The worst of it is we can't install them with the cheap screws they gave us. Our stairs like most, are oak and even with a pilot hole drilled the screw head just hollows out. You can do this to the screw with a hand screw driver. So far after 4 rods we lost 4 screws and the ones we did get in are all hollowed out and you can visibaly see that. One of the screws broke in half inside the wood. In addition after install the rod is so flimsy it just bends around the carpet and will NEVER apply any support. I bent one just dropping it. We are thinking about taking them back out and returning them but we are not sure how we are going to get the hollowed out screws out of the wood with out damaging our stairs. I wish we would have taken our time and shopped around.
