  • Dried specimens: butterflies collected or purchased by yourself.
  • Specimen needle: used to fix the butterfly's torso, tentacle shape and wing shape
  • Spreader: Foam board for spreading butterfly's wings
  • Quick-drying glue: used to mount the dried butterfly specimen into the frame.
  • Sulfate paper: used to fix the wing shape when spreading the wings.
  • Tweezers: for spreading the wings and adjusting the wing shape.
  • Photo frame: used to mount the dried butterfly specimen so that it can be preserved for a longer period of time.
  • Triangular paper bag: a storage bag for the collected butterflies, which can effectively prevent the butterfly specimens from deteriorating and getting moldy before spreading their wings.
  • The mounted specimens must be protected from moisture and insects, and placed in a cool and ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight.

no instructions and seems overpriced for what it is

My 14 year old is exploring insect pinning. This is a decent kit. It's not the proper pins but they'll still work. And, unfortunately, they're just floating around free in the box so when it arrives everything sounded broken. But it was just the pins shaking around. Overall, I'm happy with it and she's thrilled with it. So it's a win

Okay - I got this as a funny thing because one of my very close friends is an entomologist. It's neat? It's got a bunch of stuff to get to experience pinning a bug. XD
