It’s just doesn’t have enough ink in it. Had I not accidentally used a stamp with black ink in the red ink pad I would definitely send it back.

it does not snap shut, which at first made me worried about it drying out. i've had it for over a year and its wetter as ever. actually it's my inkiest stamp pad, i love it!

And of course w/the perfect sized little footprints that I got for my daughters birthday she can easily stamp her 'Whiskey's' little print next to her name whenever she sends out cards!!!
