I use primarily IR air tools, whether that's a die grinder or cut off tools or impacts; This performs as intended and for those individuals who've done the same thing I've always done in the past, do not put a cutoff wheel on your die grinder; buy the cut-off tool with the guard on it.

I've pretty much always just gone with the low cost Chinese made air tools. They're so inexpensive, they're almost free and they usually do the job. My last purchase was a 3" cut off tool. It just had no power. You could let it spin up but as soon as it touched metal, it would quickly come to a stop. It was almost new but total garbage. So, I decided to just go with the best, and IR has always had the best reputation. I'd never owned any IR tools, and this one was three times the cost of the one I replaced, but absolutely no regrets. This is a real tool, the last one didn't even qualify as a toy. I don't think I'll buy any other brand going forward. I expect in the long run, I'll actually spend less because I regularly need to replace the cheap ones anyway. This is heavy, solid, powerful and pretty to boot.

You are definitely going to need a LOT of CFM. Any kind of smaller hose will NOT “cut it”. Otherwise this is a great tool. Made short work of a thick Masterlock. Feels like a quality tool from a trusted manufacturer

So far an excellent tool I had to sent the first one back because it didn't even try to spin but this one has been very good .I was really about to give up on Ingersol Rand when I got the first one but so far the second one is excellent .Lots of power

These are a well made air tool at this price point and they are a better value over time than the cheaper HF version. I bought this as an Amazon return and it came in a new sealed box-go figure? My price was less than half what the box stores sell these for! I will toss in that I want the guard off the tool and in spite of my being a professional mechanic I failed to get it loose! I had the tool in a heavy vise and a high end, heavy wrench on it and it would not turn loose! I'll try again later.

Great tool good power, but might end off cutting the front trigger; it's too big and get in the way sometimes

Awesome. Ingersoll Rand makes probably the best pneumatics. I put it up there with Snap On and Mac. This thing sucks a lot of air so make sure you have a big compressor. Use an inline oiler for this off a manifold so you only the tools that need oil have oil (for those that don't know)

This tool was purchased to replace another Ingersoll-Rand cut off tool that finally wore out. First, I should say I am not a contractor, professional mechanic or welder. With that said I am the garage mechanic, welder, electrician and home repair/remodeler.After my last cut off tool wore out from use and age I set out to buy another. I tried the cheap models that are out there for $9.99 and they work... OK. Meaning it will do the job but not as well as the IR 326G. This is a serious cutoff tool and you better have a good sized air compressor to support it. My 5hp (an ACTUAL 5 hp motor) will keep up with the tool under full load as the compressor puts out about 20 CFM at 120 PSI.The IR 326G specifications says it uses about 6 CFM at 90 PSI but it will run down a small 5 gallon tank in about 20 seconds and the tool begins to bog down from a lack of air. If and that is a big IF, you have a compressor that will support the 20+ CFM at 90 PSI, at full load, the IR 326G will not bog down or stall. It will slice through fiberglass, plastics and steel like a hot knife through butter. It also helps if you have some good 3" diameter abrasive wheels too, with a 3/8" arbor. I tend to like the thinner 1/32" wheels but they are not as strong as the thicker versions. I reasoned if you are removing less material it will cut faster. My first task was to cut through 14 gauge expanded metal and it was a true pleasure to cut. My last tool did not work nearly as well. Next there was a rusted out bolt (about 1/2" diameter) in a very tight corner that was cut through with ease. Next up was some stainless steel banding. The throttle is accurate enough to ease through the .040" material without cutting too deeply and damaging the base material under the banding. As with other cut off tools this one is fairly loud and ear protection is a must. Proper eye protection is a must because the tool spews forth sparks and/or debris with great vigor.Tool details: A black rubber type grip surrounds the tool and provides a comfortable and firm gripping surface and the exhaust is on the front. I tend to like front exhausts better as it is not spraying oil all over my air hose and me. This is from Ingersoll-Rand's website: Disc Diameter (in.): 3, Air Consumption (CFM): 6, CFM at Load: 25, Speed (RPM): 20,000, Tool Length (in.): 9 5/8", Tool Weight : 2.4 pounds, Air inlet, ¼" NPT female, (a 3/8" hose is recommended).I am completely sold on this tool. It is also reasonable enough in price as the quality and performance are there.
