I spent what seems like forever, looking for the best feeding seat for my 5 month old grandson. Being unable to sit up on his own, it was difficult to find a seat that would meet what I expected of it. We’ve bought Bumbo (various versions), Prince Lionheart, & high chairs of all sorts, and nothing seemed to work.I read reviews on Kids II and on Amazon, as well as any I found through Google, on this particular model. We tend to always fall to Ingenuity, as they seem to put a lot of thought process into theur items, as well as having great customer service, willing to help resolve to ensure that we’re happy. I ordered this after reading reviews, and love the seat (As does he!). Again, Ingenuity has had a wonderful thought process when designing this one! It has some flaws, (one) or maybe it’s just a flaw to an overly OCD grandmother (:It’s a great height. Perfect for us to sit after having play time, either with the activity gym, water mat, or toys, and have a snack, or our normal feeding times thereafter.Straps are included that attach to a chair, allowing him to sit with us at the table, rather than holding him.The “cushion” is a wonderful material.. It’s soft & seems comfortable, and is able to be wiped down after eating, or to be removed for a more thorough cleaning or as they grow (while his chubby little legs could not fot through the Bumbo, he still has plenty of growing room left in the Ingenuity). We also use the chair for sitting up, whether watching tv or his tablet, or just enjoying the life of not having to lie down all the time... it’s great for this, Being that you can remove the tray for these times or for travel, and him have that little special time, is wonderful. The fact that the tray slides in below the seat, for it’s “little home”, makes this seat even better! (I love that!)!My only complaint is that the strap running between their legs is so short! For a child that cannot sit up on his own, he tends to fall forward a bit. I’ve never seen one so short, and not sure of the idea behind this, but it doesn’t take away from how much we love the seat, and how much he enjoys it! I figure I’ll pick up some hook and loop the next time we’re in town, and fix a small extender for that particular part of the strap, and it’ll be fine. We’d definitely recommend this seat to anyone looking to find the perfect seat for their little girl/guy! (We also recommend the Ingenuity 2-in-1 Soothing Solutions Swing (We have the “smart size” & it’s a God send!)!

We totally got sucked in and bought the super swanky chair that folds and is leather and blah blah blah and then realized its super difficult to transport, takes up a ton of space, and our kid hates it.So...Then we bought the Ingenuity Baby Base and Love it! This little seat is great. It can be placed on a table, counter top, chair, or coffee table and has grippy plastic on the bottom so it WILL NOT slide. I don't think i could drag it across a counter if I tried. It feels like it has a giant suction cup on the bottom. Its super easy to clean. The tray comes off and wipes down in the sink. The chair is void of those annoying crack and nooks that food hides in, and the material is easy to wipe off with a wash cloth....or just let the dog lick clean. The green material pops out easily and can be wiped off.Our kiddo is super secure in the seat. He's got some huge thighs on him but has plenty of room in this chair. Hes got room but the chair has high walls and the crotch part comes up high so I never worry about him getting out of it even without the tray in place. The Cons are that its can't be collapsed but its really not that big at all. Its a tad heavy...but it feels secure because of that. The only thing I'd change would be the straps that connect it to a chair if you want to do that. I dont think theyre needed and they can flop around when your not using them. I taped them into rolls and tucked them in the slot in the bottom. Now they don't bug me. I might actually just cut them off.Overall, for the functionality and the price this is a great chair and is super versatile. For our next kid we'll definitely keep this one.

After 2 kids this is one of my favorite items! If I were to make a list of top 20 things to get when having a baby this is on that list! My only regret is buying other things first that weren't as good.why I love this:1) works like a bumbo for early stages of learning to sit. the seat is soft and squishy for comfort. Has proper safety seat belts.2) wide leg position! if you have ever had a baby with chunky legs in a traditional bumbo seat or something similar then you will appreciate that these openings are MUCH wider. Even the cutest, chunkiest baby legs have comfort space.3) lightweight and easily portable. I've tossed this in the trunk for a day at Grandma's with no fuss.4) Very washable5) It does have buckles that can secure the seat safely to a chair if desired but also has a handy storage place under the seat if you don't want to use them.6) The tray is great for snacks or fun and also easily tucked away when not in use.7) the 'grow with you' feature is true to it's description. I used this with my 4 month old (learning to sit as previously discussed) but also the soft seat easily came out and made a nice booster seat for my toddler.8) very cost effective for all that it does! the bumbo seat comparable feature alone is cheaper (bumbos running at 50 retail, 40 with store coupons etc). Then kiddos grow out of bumbo (which BTW don't come with the tray it's separate for $10 more) and then they still need a high chair of sorts later on. Further on they get in that "i'm too big for a high chair" phase in which you find yourself buying a booster seat. I only wish I hadn't bought the $130 Chicco high chair or a bumbo seat in the past. This can do all of those things, easily and comfortably.
