This is what quiet and efficient. However, if an airline tube or anything else (power cord, any other object nearby - I had an issue with the cord from my blinds) touches it, it vibrates very loudly. I use it for 2 tanks and it provides enough pressure.

I hvae many air pumps, and I know 'quiet' when it comes to pumps. This pump is QUIET! Lots of power, no noise, equates to a great buy. I may buy another :-)

After testing 10 different pumps at Amazon, which had noise specifications in db, this is the only one that was really silent and was the only one that the specifications were respected. when the tank is big, not every pump does the work, we need higher flow of air and the noise becomes a problem when they are inside. really liked, and other great point, I have it for 2 years already and it working., I found another brand that was silent but lasted less than 4 month.

I purchased this to replace a similarly powered aquarium pump that had overheated. The previous pump I had did not have an outer casing and was ridiculously loud. I had to put it into a sound dampening box just to be able to hear the TV at a normal level and even then, it was still loud. I could be somewhere several rooms away and still hear the droning of the motor. It was pretty crazy how loud it could get but that was all I could find to adequately power the number of filters and air stones in our 40gal fish tank. It also ran really hot. Now, with this new pump, I hear a faint blowing air sound, but that's it! It is strong enough to power a double-sponge filter and two air stones and not have to run at full throttle. To reduce some of the vibration sounds, I placed it on top of a wooden box with some foam pads underneath. This significantly reduced the noise of the pump running at high power. I haven't noticed any siginificant amount of heat output either unlike my last pump. I definitely would purchase this again.

I really like this product but it doesn't last long. I've found the air pushed out of this product is really good and fairly quiet compared to other products I have purchased. However, since the product is always running 24/7 it tends to fail around 2 years. So keep in mind that you will probably need to replace it every two years or so. Most other air pumps are the same.

I was surprised at how quiet this pump was. It does move a lot of air. I am pleased with his purchase.

Great pump, it was basically silent the first month. Then the small buzz started. No big deal. It would stop after a few seconds. Now (after the second month) It’s loud. I have it on top of a piece of foam and just lightly touching the top of it makes it stop for about 10 seconds. Then it comes back.I really wanted to love this pump, it works great, it’s just SO loud, the tone of buzzing is annoying, and it’s in my living room.Help ☹️* edited to add, I put some padded foam under it, and a layer of cardboard between the pad and the pump. It is silent now. Love the pump.

It works, it's not too loud, and it seems to be a solid item that will last. I've had many types of aquarium air pumps over decades, and this product is very satisfactory.

UPDATE: Oct 27 2023I noticed the noise increase at night compared to during the day and also noticed that the pumps would pump more air in the devices not a lot more but enough to be noticed, not just my pumps but all power devices on my tanks. During the day it was back to normal noise level and air volume. just at night that the noise levels would increase and I think I have an answer not only for these pumps but all electrical devices that are in an aquarium. The simplest answer is that the power demand for hydroelectric power is less when people are asleep. Less power demand means less current demand. Less current demand causes LOWER transmission losses, which allows the voltage to go higher (towards its "no load" value). which in turn means a small increase in power to the pumps enough to make them work just a bit harder which makes them create more noise because they now receive a little bit more power from your home. All that being said my pumps are still working like a charm with no hiccups to date.Oct. 6th, 2023: UPDATE:All 3 are pumping the air volume as advertised but have become much louder than when new. The first dB rating was 10 dB at a 2-foot distance now they are at 20 plus dB double the noise level when first used. all measured under the same circumstances. so they do increase with noise as they get older.I did take one apart to see if it was damaged it sounded like a rubber cup had a tear in it or a reed valve that was damaged it was that kind of loud. but everything was good no damage nothing loose. The only thing I can think of is that the rubber they used for the reed valves and cups has become a stiffer rubber from losing a micro amount of oils or moisture and making the valves and cups a harder rubber. this would cause this kind of noise and also means that it will only get louder with age as rubber does dry out and those reed valves would be the first to fail.7/12/2023~UPDATE: I now have 3 of them and all work very well, my first one is 3 months old (April 10th) no problems. If I could get parts for these air pumps, I would eliminate all the others I have and run INCLY MC-3000 exclusively.===================================================It works well I have no complaints, it is a bit noisy but that's to be expected on an air pump this size although it is quite enough to be used in a bedroom as long as you put the pump on some EVA foam which is what I did.I would suggest this to anyone looking for a mid-range air pump for a rack that would hold 6x 5-gallon tanks and all using foam/floss air-driven filters. it would still have enough power to run breeding cages and air stone. very nice pump will be buying another one for my other rack of tanks.

I've tried different air pumps over the years for both my aquariums and plant cloning/hydroponics systems. This one is by far the best air pump style I have used. Its powerful enough to run sponge filters in multiple tanks and seems well built. I have it running 4 double sponge filters (1 in each tank, 2-20gal long display tanks, 1-10gal quarantine tank, 1-5gal fry tank) on the low setting and it pushes out a lot of air. I could easily see this handling 2-4 40gal breeder tanks still on the low setting. Put it on high setting if you want a faster flow or to handle more tanks/airstones. Its super quiet, I hardly even notice it is running. It really is worth the extra cash over the cheap $10-$20 ones (tetra, hitop, etc) that barely handle 1 tank, are loud as hell, and burn out in a few months. Not sure about how long it will last, but so far its been about 3 months and still going strong. I plan to get another one soon for my other tanks so I can toss out the noisy ones.EDIT: 2 years and still going strong. This pump has run consistently 24hrs a day for 2 solid years. It is a tiny wee bit louder now due to age, but still runs the same amount of tanks just as well. I am very happy with this pump and when it finally dies I will buy it again.
