I used these to help protect my clothing from wine brought back from my trip. For added protection, I picked up a cheap box of absorbent portable potty pads from the medical supply listings (they'll absorb liquid and turn to gel immediately for easy clean up and to prevent it running everywhere) and added one to each bag, then tucked them into a suitcase pocket. That way if the bottle did break, it would hopefully be absorbed by the pad in the bag before it either leaked everywhere or in case the broken glass sliced the bag open. I filled my bags in France, sealed them and packed in the middle of the suitcase with the clothing. They all survived and I had additional confidence my clothing would be protected if anything did happen.

These are not the toughest bags. None have broken but I feel like the handles could be a bit thicker especially when carrying around. But these are good quality and a great price
