I have been ordering these tape for years and the quality was always the same until the recent shipment, the tape we received this time are not as sticky and the rolls look like they have been exposed to some heat so the tape is uneven and not smooth.

We purchase this product all the time and we will continue to do so. The tape is of great quality making it perfect for packaging and shipping items.Each roll is 110 yards long, which is incredibly convenient as I no longer have to constantly switch out rolls during a packaging job. We have tried the 3 inch tape, but we found that this 2 inches tape does the job just as well at a cheaper price, making it perfect for sealing larger boxes or packages. Doesn't stick well at all, worse than school house Scotch tape. Kept tearing coming off the roll, just horrible trying to tape up a box. But by FAR the worst thing was the horrible chemical smell that gave me an instant headache lasting hours. I am too cheap to throw it out or give it away so I now have to wear a 3M chemical canister mask to use the stuff and I do all the taping in the garage because it will stink up the whole house--not fun in February in Northern New England. Just to be clear, I do not have any known chemical sensitivity and this has never happened to me at this level with any other tape I have used...it's not me, it's the tape. Search the reviews for bad smell. Will never purchase again. If you decide to buy, just be sure you are done with your old tape or you will be past any return period by the time you open the box and use this crap.

Before I purchased this tape, I checked dozens of other brands and types, not just on Amazon but others as well. I wanted 3 in. wide tape that was a dark color. These seemed to be well received. However, there are two issues.1. This tape doesn't stick to cardboard well enough to have the word "Premium" in its title. It sticks well to itself and plastic, but it only sticks decently to cardboard. It is fine for medium and smaller packages, but large cartons/boxes may require more than one application.2. It is not very thick. I could read the words on a sticker that I taped over. I probably should have noticed that it was only 1.8 mm thick before buying it, so this one is on me. I would have preferred 2.5 mm or higher.

This is not the best tape in the world. There are more expensive tapes that are thicker and perform better. For packing my boxes to move across town, I did not need tape rated to hold together a space shuttle. I got twelve rolls of this tape for the same price as three of the high end stuff. It was a good deal and I'm glad I did it, although I may never need to buy tape again. It's coming out my ears.

This packing tape is not as thick as advertised, but since I have no micrometer I can't verify the thinness - just compared to other tapes advertised as similar thickness it seems to be on "Weight Watchers". But, given the value proposition, it is very good. The adhesion is good, I just suggest you have a Jenga block or some similar non-sharp, hard object to squeeze out air bubbles for maximum adhesion. It is excellent for cardboard boxes, corrugated or otherwise and the it sticks to non-smooth plastics very well once the air bubbles are squeezed out. As mentioned by other reviewers it may require a twixe around to secure the package to your satisfaction, but for the price, if a few extra seconds don't bother you, this is a great value. Also, it is very clear.

If you need a decent tape that will work for items that are light in weight this is a good value for the money. You get a lot of tape for the price point which I love. I use this for shipping light weight items and it works great. I use it on plastic bags so the tape holds really well. I personally don't think it is great tape to use on cardboard or boxes because it doesn't stick as well. It could work I suppose if you doubled up on the tape though. This tape is on the thinner side so just be aware of that if you need a thicker/stronger tape.
