Easy to install kill switch. I installed it on old truck that we don't drive very often and would drain the battery. So far, this has solved the problem.

The IMAYCC Battery Kill Switch is an essential tool for anyone looking to add an extra layer of security and convenience to their vehicle, RV, ATV, or truck. This 12V 120A battery disconnect switch is designed to provide a quick and easy way to cut off power to your vehicle's battery, preventing unauthorized access or theft. Here's an in-depth look at its key features, benefits, and any potential drawbacks.Key Features:12V 120A Rating:This kill switch is rated for 12V systems and can handle up to 120 amps, which makes it suitable for a wide variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, RVs, and ATVs. It can be used for both starting and auxiliary power circuits.Remote Battery Disconnect:One of the standout features of this switch is its remote battery disconnect capability. This allows you to turn off the battery power without needing to physically access the switch, providing added convenience and security. The remote control makes it easy to disable or enable the electrical system from a distance.Top Post Mount:The switch is designed for top post battery connections, making it compatible with most standard automotive batteries. Itâs simple to install on vehicles that use top post batteries, providing a solid connection for uninterrupted power control.Anti-Theft Functionality:The main appeal of the IMAYCC Battery Kill Switch is its anti-theft function. By disconnecting the power, it prevents potential thieves from starting the vehicle, giving you peace of mind when the vehicle is parked for long periods or in areas where theft is a concern.Cut-Off & Shut-Off Switch:The kill switch provides a reliable way to cut off the electrical system when you're not using the vehicle. This helps prevent battery drain when the vehicle is in storage and can prolong the life of the battery.Durability & Safety:The switch is designed with durability and safety in mind, built to withstand the harsh conditions that vehicles face. It has a solid, corrosion-resistant construction to handle outdoor exposure.Versatile Application:While primarily designed for cars, the kill switch is versatile and can be used in a wide range of vehicles and machines, including RV, ATV, trucks, and even boats or motorhomes.Pros:Enhanced Security: The ability to remotely disconnect the battery power provides an additional layer of security for your vehicle, making it harder for thieves to start or tamper with the vehicle.Battery Protection: Prevents unwanted battery drain while the vehicle is not in use, which is especially useful for vehicles that are stored for long periods.Easy Installation: The top post design makes it compatible with most vehicle batteries, and installation is straightforward with minimal tools required.Convenient Remote Control: The included remote control makes it much easier to use the kill switch without having to physically interact with the switch.Universal Fit: Works on a variety of vehicles, from cars and trucks to RVs and ATVs, making it a versatile addition to your fleet.High Amp Rating: Can handle up to 120 amps, meaning itâs suitable for high-power applications, ensuring reliable operation without overloading.Cons:Limited to 12V Systems: This switch is designed for 12V systems, so it wonât work with vehicles that use other voltages, like 24V systems found in some larger trucks and equipment.Battery Drain in Some Cases: While it helps prevent parasitic battery drain, the remote system may require its own small battery to function, which adds to the overall power consumption when not in use.Requires Proper Wiring: Proper installation of the battery disconnect switch is essential for safety. Incorrect wiring can lead to functionality issues or damage to the vehicleâs electrical system.Remote Battery Life: The remote control's battery life may need to be monitored and replaced from time to time, especially with frequent use. Conclusion:The IMAYCC Battery Kill Switch is an excellent choice for anyone seeking to add a layer of security and convenience to their vehicle. Its remote control feature makes it incredibly convenient, allowing you to disconnect the battery without needing to physically reach the switch. My daughter's car has a parasitic drain on the electrical system. If it sits for 2-3 days without being driven, it'll be dead as a door nail.I've chased that draw for many weekends, and finally took it to the dealer. They couldn't figure it out either, as they said it must be intermittent. So, what was My super lazy, yet super effective solution?Remote battery Kill baby!I bypassed the kill switch for the ECU, radio Clock and Locks, and now every time she leaves the car for any extended period of time, she just kills the battery, and it stays fresh and ready to go!One day I'll find it... Until then? This switch saves the day!

I ordered three kill switches for the different vehicles. I first put this kill switch in a 2002 Dodge Durango.First, this switch does not have an manual on/off on the device. You can only operate it from the remotes. Not a deal breaker, but it may be of concern in some applications so it is worth mentioning.Second, unlike the other two kill switches, this one has a second wire that connects to the negative. I'm not sure why, but it should be mentioned.Overall, this works great. In the Durango, I noticed that if you clicked it on and then off, there was a delay before it disconnected. I'm guessing that is due to the electronic bits. After installing this one, we installed the other two on two older Toyota RVs. With the last RV, the battery was positioned in such a way that we could not get that switch to attach to the negative battery post. So we pulled this switch out of the Durango and tried it.The cable lengths on this switch made all the difference. We were able to attach it to the battery, then bend the cable slightly to move the switch box over a bit so we had room to attach the negative battery cable to the switch post.So while this switch isn't as "pretty" as the other two, doesn't have a manual on/off or status lights, it gets HIGH marks for being more maneuverable in a difficult battery configuration. With the older, no electronics, vehicle, the switch cuts off immediately without delay. We tested the remote while the engine was running and it was disabled, so that security definitely works. The main purpose for this is to keep the battery from draining when the vehicle sits for long periods of time. I see this switch working well for that.It comes with two remotes. The remotes make this very easy to use. It's convenient not having to go under the hood to flip a kill switch.

After getting this I decided this was a bad idea. The design is a little bit strange, especially in the way that it the manual describes how to use it. There are two major problems that I see.1. The amperage rating is only 120 amps. Similarly, priced remote control switches are rated at 240 amps. Note how thin the battery terminal connector is in the photo. I don't trust it to deliver enough cold cranking apps to be useful.2. The design of the battery post connectors is wonky. There's no way to keep them separated in the way that this is designed. I could easily see them shorting together making the switch useless. Some of the photos in the manual show the two terminal connectors so close together that any vibration in the vehicle would just push them together. It's a really bad design. So I didn't bother to install this. I am sending it back.
