The research says that copper does nothing so these gloves are the way to go if you're going to do this: don't pay more for copper. The research also says you could wear any glove and get the same effect just by keeping your hands warm, but I think the pressure feels really nice. I tried some fingerless gloves I already owned and yes, the warmth did help but I definitely like this better. My hands are no better when I'm not wearing them: they're not a cure for anything. But they keep me absolutely comfortable all night long and so I don't get awakened multiple times by pain. Not only can I sleep through the night but also my hands are no longer swollen and painful in the mornings. I can start my day without the usual difficult warm-up period. My fingertips are red and puffy, though; I think the gloves do interfere with circulation a little bit. For the most comfort, pull them on like you would normal gloves and then tug each fingertip, including thumbs, to lengthen & loosen a bit. It seems to cut down on that problem. You can wear them all day if you want. I haven't yet, but would if I was having a bad day. And I might in cold weather (I just bought them, in June). They are kind of hard to size; the guide on the box is awesome, on the web page here not so much. If you're between sizes, get the larger of the two. It's what I did after much dithering and they're perfect.

I have Raynaud's Disease (secondary - came along with Lupus) and even in the summer, my hands are constantly cold. I was getting daily Raynaud's attacks in which I lost almost all blood flow to my hands and they became so cold that they were painful before I bought these gloves. They help so much! They seem to stimulate blood flow enough to keep me from having an attacks. These are great "summer weight" gloves for someone with Raynaud's to wear while just going about their life.I also have joint pain in my fingers from Lupus, and these gloves also help to reduce my pain, although that's not even what I originally bought them for! I attend college classes online, and I have to do a lot of typing and computer work because of that. I always wear these gloves now while I work at my computer, and they make such a difference! Hardly any pain, even after hours of typing! For those wondering about size: When I measured my hand as it says to on the picture of the box, I was between a size small and medium. Everyone always tells me how small my hands are, but I have chubby fingers, so I was worried the small wouldn't fit. I ordered the small ones anyway. They definitely were tight when I first put them on, but I believe that they're supposed to be tight. If I had gotten the medium, they probably would not have been as effective. I agree with other reviews that they stretch out over a few days to fit your hands perfectly! The material of these gloves is soft and durable. The heather grey color is beautiful, in my opinion, and it makes them slightly more "stylish" than other gloves I've seen, which is nice for a 23 year old girl who has the circulation problems of a much older woman. The finger tips end right at the second joint on my short fingers, and I find this to be the perfect length for typing, using my phone, and other day to day activities.

I had injured my left hand catching a large heavy box that was about to fall. It seemed to strike the ball of flesh where my thumb joins my palm. It ached for weeks, so after my mom fully recovered from a broken left wrist, I began wearing the stiff black brace with Velcro straps that she had used after her plaster cast was removed. I only wore it at night while sleeping, but the relief was immediate and the pain almost completely disappeared within a month; however, I continued to wear the brace for another month and my middle and ring fingers began to bend while sleeping. I couldn't straighten them in the morning without pain and help from my right hand! After searching online for a solution, I ended up ordering three different pairs of gloves, all of which differ in their thickness and flexibility: the IMAK compression arthritis gloves (intermediate thickness/flexibility); Totes Isotoner Therapeutic Open-Finger Gloves (thinnest and most flexible); and Thermoskin Premium Arthritic Gloves (thickest and least flexible). The thickness and flexibility aspects are the biggest difference between the three brands/styles. Size and comfort for all three were great. I'm a petite woman with small hands, and the small gloves fit, well, like a glove, without being tight. The IMAK feels cozy and warm, so even if you're pain free, you might wear them as fingerless gloves to keep your hands warm during the day and still be able to function.I wore the left IMAK compression glove at night for 6-8 weeks; the "trigger finger" phenomenon began dissipating immediately. My fingers would just be a little stiff in the mornings. Then one night I forgot to wear them, and realized my fingers were less stiff without the gloves, so I quit wearing them. I've been glove-free for about two months, but I will keep the gloves because it feels like the trigger-finger problem might return.
