Legit, I was skeptical at first but these were a direct replacement. These seem to increase HP slightly.

97' Porsche Boxster fit as they should. Look almost exact to the factory ones. Running them for a couple weeks now with no issue. Car runs a little smoother than the old factory ones. Time will tell.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. This product is absolute crap. This has been the WORST experience on Amazon I have ever had. First, ordered these because it said OEM and even referenced the same VW part number. THESE ARE NOT VW. Check the fine print. My GTI started misfiring and I knew the coils were the problem. Since I’m a prime member, I figured I’d get these as they said they were OEM, and they would get to my house before I got home from work (free same day shipping). I ordered these at noon. At 4pm I received an email saying that my order wouldn’t be delivered for 4 DAYS!!!!!! So I went back into amazon and looked at the exact same part, and it said if I ordered in the next 1 hour and 20 something minutes, I could have these TOMORROW guaranteed. Hold on, how can a new order be delivered tomorrow, but my order (with same day shipping) would take 4 days to arrive. Lies, lies, lies, lies. I had to rent a car to get to work the following days while I waited for these to come in.So they arrive, 4 days later. Take a look at my pictures. 2 of them were so deformed, I had to take a hammer to them to get them circular enough to fit over the spark plug. Not OEM by any measure on earth. From the moment I installed them, and the first test drive, something didn’t feel right. With my OEM coils, below the power band, I could leave it in the same gear and just add a bit of throttle and the car would accelerate. Not with these. You constantly have the feeling that it is about to misfire. Remember when you had to limp you car home when you had a faulty coil, and you were trying to baby the throttle to keep it from misfiring? That feeling you had, when you put any load on the engine, you knew a misfire was just around the corner? Yup, enjoy that anxiety, because it is going nowhere anytime soon. It feels like these don’t provide enough “juice”, and any load on the engine is replied with a hesitation from the engine. Not a misfire, lets give credit where credit is due, my car never illuminated a CEL (check engine light) with these installed. Good job!Let’s fast forward 1 month. A month of downshifts to pass a car going 70, when I wanted to go 75. A month of downshifts because there was a small hill approaching. A month of downshifts because a headwind just appeared.I knew something was wrong, and wondered if it was my motor losing compression, turbo failing, clutch slipping. What was causing this??? Why don’t I have the same “power” or ability to just leave it in 6th and put the hammer down anymore? Then it came to me, this started when I first had the misfire and subsequent CEL and has remained ever since. “But I replaced the coils with OEM, this should be fixed”, I thought to myself. So $200 later, buying OEM coil packs from my local VW dealership, and what do you know?! My motor is smooth, perky, and acting as I remember. DO NOT BUY AFTERMARKET “OEM” COIL PACKS. It is a giant waste of your money. Yes, these cost 1/2 the cost of OEM, and you can expect 1/2 the performance; not receive them when promised, and pay for a rental car for 3 days (my daily commute is 120 miles round trip, didn’t want to risk it with a misfire), and still have to go to the dealership to buy another set of coils packs to actually fix the issue. This product has a misleading description, misleading shipping, and misleading performance. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!! I cannot stress this enough. Buy OEM, from a VW delearship. Just, seriously, just do it. Skip this product entirely.

Vehicle info – 2011 Audi A5 Quattro, 137,000 miles. Installed these R8 coils with new plugs and the car runs great. Now, a bit of history and suggestion. My #3 coil failed at approx. 75,000 miles.. Failing late in the day and during my commute I limped to a nearby repair shop where they replaced only the #3 coil (they only had 1 in stock). A few weeks later I had the other 3 coils replaced. No problems until I reached approx. 110,000 miles. #1 coil failed. At this time I had all 4 coils replaced as I wanted matching coils from the same manufacturer. At 137,000 miles driving back from DC (on 95 no less) another coil failed. Car lost power above 2,000 RPM (feels as if the trans is slipping) so I limped again to a safe spot. Plugged the code reader and pulled a #3 cylinder misfire code. Being familiar with this failure I called an AutoZone and luckily they had the coil. Replaced it in their parking lot (literally took 5 minutes) and back on my way. I researched these coil failures and there are literally thousands of complaints with the stock coils used across most of the Audi line. During the research I learned the R8 coil packs are much more reliable, fire with approx. 40% hotter spark and have found zero compatibility complaints. So far so good and my car runs better than I can remember. So…. Here’s my suggestion…. If you’re approaching the 70,000 mile mark do yourself a huge favor. CHANGE YOUR COILS TO THESE R8 COILS NOW. If you can send a text message you can change these coils without any issue. Its literally UNSCREW ONE PHILIPS HEAD SCREW, UNSEAT THE OLD COILS, TAKE EACH CONNECTOR OFF (there are one on each coil ), REMOVE THE COILS, INSERT NEW COILS, RECONNECT EACH OF THE 4 CONNECTORS, PUSH DOWN FIRMLY ON EACH COIL TO SEAT THEM FIRMLY ON THE SPARK PLUGS, REINSERT AND TIGHTEN THE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW. There you are….. Also, go and buy a basic code reader and keep it in the trunk with the coils you removed..if you don’t change the coils preemptively then buy one or a complete set of 4 and toss them in the trunk with the code reader and a phillips head screwdriver….ONE WAY OR ANOTHER YOU WILL HAVE COIL FAILURE SO BE PREPARED…… THEY WILL NOT FAIL WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING PAST AN AUDI DEALER….. this is such a simple fix and it will save you hundreds if you just change them yourself. THEY WILL FAIL…THEY WILL NOT FAIL AT A CONVENIENT LOCATION…..THEY WILL NOT FAIL AT A CONVENIENT TIME…..BUT…. THEY ABSOLUTELY WILL FAIL …. Hope this helps……

I ordered these parts mainly because of quick Prime availability and lack of stock at local auto parts stores. First impression out of box was positive. Parts seem well made and duplicates of original Audi parts with two minor appearance differences. The four rubber positioning ears appear smaller on these and the crimp on the metal tube was not as tight or neatly closed as the originals. Curiously, the rubber boot below the red top bore the same exact imprint as the original parts. And the interior of the connector has the same code number molded into it on these replacements as the original part. While not listed on the box, I contacted AAignition and they confirmed the coils are made in China. Not a big deal, what isn't these days. I wrote AAignition with questions and each time I got an answer in an hour or less. Excellent customer service from a rep who clearly cared about customers. The parts fit perfectly and with 400 miles on the car since replacement I'm hopeful for excellent reliability. There isn't a big cost savings for these parts vs audi or other name brand replacement parts, but if you need them fast they are worth a try. One maintenance suggestion - if one coil goes, spring for the 4 or 6 you need to do the job right, and if high mileage, replace spark plugs at the same time if access to coils is blocked by engine components that have to be removed first.
