This replacement doggie door flap was the same great quality as the original. It was simple to install.

It is actually 14" total in length, for those that are afraid it may be too short.

Perfect fit and so crystal clear it makes me think I should’ve replaced the interior flap too. When it’s time, I’ll buy this one again.

My previous flaps were tinted which caused many collisions between my dogs. After three years, they have torn, warped, and have dirt imbedded in them. It was time for a refresh. These replacements fit perfectly, are easy to install, and are crystal clear. I’ve notice the dogs putting the brakes on if they see another making their way through or standing on the other side. Hoping they are durable and will hold up for a few years. Very happy with the purchase.

I ordered the 9 3/4 x 17 replacement flap (XL I believe). The reviews on this were great but biggest complaint was, the flap is just a little short. The first picture shows both the new and old flap side by side. Second picture is of the box and new flap beside each other. As you can see in the third picture after installing the new flap it appears to be a little short.Take a look at the fourth picture and ypu will notice I have the new flap on top of the two old ones. Notice how the holes on the flaps being replaced are oval shape and not round like the new. That is why the new flaps are a little short and I imagine over time the will stretch and eventually touch the bottom of the dog door entry.Last picture is of the new flaps, oh so clean!Only time will yell how these fare. Over all I am satisfied and will buy again as I need in 5 -7 years.

I have two active dogs who use the dog door multiple times/day. Overall, it works great. Heading into winter, it was time to replace my the flaps... for the second time. Both sets lasted 4 years- I'm happy about that. I'm not so happy about the price. I paid $29 each (my door has two flaps) four years ago; now they are $58 each. I understand increasing commodity costs and inflation, but a 100% price increase is still significant.

I’ve had my Ruff Weather (RW) dual flap dog door for 11 years. The door frame itself has performed superbly from an 85lb and a 110lb dog both blasting through it many times a day over the decade plus. However, the weak point of these doors -as you well know if you have one - is that after only a few weeks the flap begins to sag, resulting in a gap that renders your door not so “Ruff Weather.”Over the years I tried a few things to fix a sagging flap, and all failed, so I have had to invest hundreds of dollars in new flaps over this time. Recently I bought a brand new RW door (I put the old one on my shed studio), and I noticed that the Ideal Pet people have tried to address the gap caused by the flap sag by making the brush felt on the sides longer now, so that the felt overlaps the flap instead of just meeting it - too bad they couldn’t have addressed the cause instead of the symptom!Anyway, this time I really applied myself to finding a solution, and I came up with an inexpensive one that works: FlexFix UL Listed Duct Tape Sealer (1.89 in. x 120.3 yd).1. Starting with the long sides, lay out a piece the tape long enough to go all the way from top to bottom of the flap. Lay the flap on the tape so the flap edge is on the center of the tape, then bring the tape up over to the top side of the flap, sandwiching the flap between the piece of tape. It’s important that the tape goes all the way top to bottom because this is what keeps it from sagging.2. Repeat step one with the top of the flap3. Slit the tape a bit where the flap holes are so the pegs can go throughI did this then waited a year to post this, just to make sure the flap didn’t sag. It didn’t! The tape even improved the sag on the old flap a bit.Photo 1 is the gap that never fails to appear on each flap after a few weeks.Photo 2 is a brand new flap with flexfix duct tape on all four sidesPhoto 3 is the taped flap installed (view from inside with inside flap removed)Photo 4 is the taped flap after one year (that green on the bottom of the door itself is painter’s tape. This area is hard to clean, so I put the tape on there and when it gets dirty I just peel it up and put new down)As a bonus for you DIYers, I've included photos of the type of dog door that the Amish around here use. If you are a good trainer, this looks to me like the best fix for high wind areas. Those are self-closing hinges so the door takes a slight bit of effort to open, then snaps closed, so maybe not good for smaller dogs. My dogs were old when I got this shed with the door, one of my dog's is sensitive and they both dislike change, so I opted to replace this door with my old RW door from the house (mentioned earlier).6/17: the photos were out of order and (hopefully) fixed.

So far so good. Received the two replacement flaps for our RUFF WEATHER Pet Door. The old ones were rendered hors de combat after ten years of two sixty pound pooches coming and going through them often at full speed. The time had come to replace them.Ordered TWO replacement flaps (they come one to a box) and they were delivered today. Took me all of fifteen minutes to remove the old pair and install the replacements (eight screws combined). They fit perfectly and certainly look much better than the torn and bent old pair. One humorous side effect though. The two I ordered are perfectly clear. When Spirit went to come back in through the new door she saw her reflection in the plastic and started barking at herself. I had to show her that the new door really didn't come with a new pooch attached. All's well that ends well. Both pooches are once again coming and going as they see fit. Much too early to tell about durability of course but these are slightly thicker than the original flaps.Looks like another good Amazon purchase now. everyone stay safe and have a great day.
