These durable traction devices attach securely to boots, providing stability and grip on slippery surfaces. The sharp metal points or teeth dig into the ice, preventing dangerous slips and falls. Crampons come in various styles, from lightweight aluminum models for hiking to heavy-duty steel versions for technical ice climbing. Proper crampon selection depends on the intended use, boot compatibility, and conditions. With ice crampons, adventurers can confidently navigate treacherous icy slopes and glaciers. Invest in a quality pair to elevate your cold-weather adventures.

Haven't had to really use them yet, as it only got super icy once this winter, but the fit is great and they're inexpensive so great to have on hand. I'm enough of a clutz without ice so I'm happy to have these for my boots. You can tell just by looking at them that they'll grip well.

I have some more minimal cleats compared to these which, while they are effective, these are serious business with much bigger bite. Definitely avoid walking on your hardwood floors with these. Another surprising advantage of this design is one size fits almost any footwear type. These fit both my low flat running shoes as well as the tallest steel toed boots. They are super simple to put on. The only caveat is that the chains might rub the sides of the footwear. No marks on my running shoes and don't care about my work boots but you might want to be cautious if you have some fancy shoes that could get marked by the chains wrapping around the edge.

So, the product does what it's intended to do. In the 'snow', the spikes provide added traction than what one would normally have, but that's not what the listing's claim to focus was. We're talking about on 'ice', which we just had a bunch of.So, on ice, the spikes will definitely hold tight traction. Not quite like epoxy cleats, in that they are not quite as rigid, but also not as stable, in that epoxy cleats are well designed for 'weight dispersion', and equal contact. These ice cleats have the ability to potentially roll to the side, as one walks, as the cleats do not come all the way out to the perimeter of the shoe/boot. If one takes a minute or two, to practice walking in them, one should be fine. It's just kind of awkward, in the beginning.

I normally prefer the prefer the type of cleats that have the spiral wire sort of criss-crossed over the bottom of the shoe/boot, but my current pair are falling apart, and I saw these ones on Vine, so I figured I'd give them a shot.I wear big army boots in the winter, so sometimes it can be hard to find cleats that will stretch over the toe and heel, but thankfully these ones fit my boots perfectly. And, unlike the spiral wire ones I like, these ones aren't going to slip down and fall off while I'm walking, because the rubber part goes over the top of the boot and stays snug. The only kind of downside about these spikey ones is that I can't put them on inside and safely walk over the carpet, so I have to put them on once I'm outside (which can be difficult with two large and excitable dogs).I can see these being great for thick ice or packed snow, but this winter has been so weird that we haven't really had any of that since I got these, so I haven't been able to try them out on such conditions yet.But the height of the spikes makes me worry that they'll be uncomfortable on any hard surface like paved roads that may only have a thin layer of ice (whereas the spiral wire ones are evenly distributed along the bottom of the boot, so it's easier to walk on them all around).I hope these ones hold up and last at least a couple of seasons. The spikes themselves seem decent, but I'm not sure yet about the chains holding everything together.I'll update this review if anything positive or negative happens to change my opinion, but so far I like these.

I have known about crampons for years but never thought I needed them. Then I got old. We don't get a lot of snow and ice where I live but any amount is potentially dangerous at my age. I wore these when we got 5 inches of snow/ice recently and the improvement in my stability (and my mental well being) when walking around was remarkable. I even walked on a clean driveway and the spikes did not bend at all so you don't have to worry about should I take them off if I am on the newly shoveled sidewalk. I would not wear them in the house. They slip on over your boots and off you go. These could also be useful if you have any sort of incline on your property where it gets slippery when wet. A worthwhile acquisition no doubt about it.

These work awesome, we recently had a pretty decent ice storm in N.E. , my back yard is a skating rink, so I bought a pair to get to my Rabbit and chickens safely. They work fantastic, highly recommended!

These XL Crampons are essentially snow tires for your shoes, in case you've never had the pleasure of wearing such items before. In just a handful of seconds you can pull each one onto your normal shoe - be it a sneaker, a winter boot, and work boot, or whatever else - and instantly any slippery soles that were skittering on ice or snow become completely solid and steady - no more slippery than a completely dry sidewalk! You put the front end of your shoe into the end of the crampon with the larger set of spikes, and then use the pull tab on the rear of the crampon to pull it up onto the heel of your shoe. With just those few moves these snow spikes are now part of your sole, and they allow you to walk around slippery surfaces without difficulty. We just had a week of ice and snow on the ground and with these on, I went from being scared to walk down my concrete porch steps to being completely comfortable and steady!Be aware that these spikes are a good 1/4" long and will dig into whatever surface you are walking on, if it is soft enough. I have an entryway carpet over my hardwood floor and there is NO way that I will take a single step off the carpet with these on my shoes, I know they'll mark up the floor in a heartbeat. They're ideal tools for the ice. Not so great for inside.Well worth the price. These will keep you steady and safe, uninjured and not to be featured in one of those winter camera doorbell fail videos!
