In assembling the table we got to the top which attaches by screws to the base- on one side there were 3 holes missing (the other matching side had the 3 proper holes to allow attachment of the top). We had to add an L bracket and some glue to get the top to attach. For another part which should have a hole, the pre-drilled hole was only half removed and we had to punch out the wood to open it up as a functioning hole for the screw. The tolerances on the drawer are off too. The drawer is slightly too small for the rails that its slides in and out of. So it wiggles side to side making it clunky to open the drawer. Sanding the slots helps but it was very roughly created in the machining of the drawer part. Sadly this is an awesome piece of furniture with exceptional wood quality and weight (heavy indeed and sturdy-if you do some fixes when QC fails. A good value if you get it together correctly.

Table came nicely packaged. A 5 year old could put it together. I stained mine and didn't even sand it. Not really needing sanding. The color stain I used is "gunstalk" by minwax. Then I put a full gloss of poly over it in a couple coats. I also added some felt strips on the drawer sliders so it slides nice and smooth and changed the knob that came with it to a brushed silver metal knob. I am totally happy with it and would recommend it to anyone. I had no cracking at all like in some other reviews and it took to stain very well. This is a very sturdy table and heavy and will not tip over easy. I searched for a 30" table with a drawer for a while before I found this one. 30" inch night stands are hard to find and this made a perfect nightstand without taking up too much space.

Hevea Brasiliensis, that’s the name given in the description for this beautiful hardwood. I looked up the name and discovered that these tables are made of rubber tree wood from Vietnam. It has a pretty grain and will take to stain very well. The wood is solid and all the pieces are thick and substantial. We’re using them as nightstands and the 30 inch height is perfect for our mattress and box spring for a king-sized bed. They look good and they will last! I suspect the shorter height is for platform beds and the taller height is for plants or hey (!) an actual telephone.I honestly don’t know why anyone would criticize these tables, they are solid and look good! Unless those reviewers received different tables?!Would be great for an apartment or someone trying to fit furniture in a small space.These tables arrived packaged very well and therefore, in great shape. Easy to assemble. However, the box says what is inside and the country of origin in large black letters (Vietnam), so try and be home when it is delivered.15 inches is the measurement of the top piece and is plenty of room for bedside objects. I love the little shelf, which now houses my iPad and charger, the lower shelf can take books or a pretty basket of stuff. We’re using lamps mounted over them on the wall to get the most out of the 15 inch space (really nice Kira Home Cambridge 13" Swing Arm Wall Lamps from Amazon).Note that the drawer does not extend all the way out, there is a plastic piece that stops the drawer from falling out when you pull it open (and it opens far enough). We put silver knobs on them, Amerock Inspirations Satin Nickel Cabinet Knobs from Amazon, which are replacing their pretty basic round wooden knobs.Btw, the wood is sanded to perfection, I kept wanting to touch it! It would be beautiful without any paint or staining. In fact, we painted them with the color Reflecting Pool by Sherwin Williams. My husband said if he could give more than 5 stars, he would and I agree!

This is an import from Vietnam. Wood was of nice grain and well-sanded. Putting together not hard. It took the stain well (two coats). On the downside, the shelf stop was missing which necessitated calling the toll-free number. This was an answering machine. Also one shelf clip hole was not drilled. All in all, the final product is a nice addition to our home. Too bad more care wasn't used before it was packaged.

Wow! I should have bought this a long time ago! I use it to put next to one of my bird's cages to hold a desk lamp that points into his cage. The light from the bulb keeps him warm, he is kind of specially challenged. It is very nice-looking, high quality and pretty average to put together. You will love the look of it! It makes my room look nicer than what I was using before. Of course you can stain it any color, but I like the natural look also. It is the perfect size for my use, does not take up too much room and the drawer holds bird treats! I could not ask for a better table !
