Patterned on their famous SR 5-string, this Ibanez GSR offers the same alternative approach to electric bass that all SR basses do. Light in weight, heavy in tone, with the fast, thin neck that’s noticeably easier to play—whether you're a veteran player, or just starting out. Built to hold its own against pro level competitors, the GSR205BWNF features a solid Mahogany body with a sophisticated Walnut Flat finish that give it a luster well beyond its class. A Rosewood fingerboard, accented with medium-size pearl dot inlays round out the visuals A sleek, comfortable, GSR5 Maple neck—widely recognized as the industry standard for playability—and rock solid Ibanez B15 bridge, rev up the specs to accommodate whatever you’re setting out to play. Factor in Ibanez DXH-5 pickups for clarity and fullness, and the PHAT-II EQ for ultra wide tonal range and you’ll see why the GSR205 ranks as one of the most-played 5-string basses of all time.

The backing plate was not fitted properly, clearly needed to be assembled with care. 2 base guitars both same issue.

Bought this for my husband, he absolutely loves it.. he has been playing for 2 years mostly at church. Some of the reviews said they couldn’t tune but we had no problems!! Definitely worth the money!

Received my bass and was immediately impressed with how beautiful the finish and color of the wood is. Was initially very disappointed as it would not tune at all! I'm basically an advanced beginner, but can easily tune my own guitars. Came with flat wounds and I tried three different tuners. Would still not tune. Took it to a guitar store and the luthier told me the strings were terrible and the guitar had Not been set up at all. Even in a rudimentary way. Like they forgot?. Even the truss rod was set too flat. $60 additionally invested with new stings and a set up by an expert, it now plays very nicely. If you don't know how to adjust for intonation you'll have to have an expert do it. Love the Bass, but disappointed I had to drop money on better strings and a major set of adjustment. Plus a drive across town.Just be mindful that you may have to do this if you buy one. I expected a little better from Ibenez..

It feels like a bass twice the price. Once I had it tuned and figured out the knobs, you couldn’t punch the smile off my face. Fantastic for the price, a very easy, fast playing neck, big tonal range, and doesn’t feel like it’s going to blow away in a strong breeze like you tend to find in this price range.

The strings are questionable. There's a loose sounding feedback on the E string no matter how much I try to tuen. Very lightweight compared to my Yamaha.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She knows how to play guitar and wanted to learn bass. I know nothing about electric bass guitars but did a bunch of research and decided on this one. She is really happy with it. I know it's not a Fender but it suits her needs as an 18-year-old just learning how to play bass. She said that the sound is good. It did need tuning out of the box.

I really love this bass. The Ibanez bass has a super full and rich sound. I’m just a novice really but it’s a lot of fun and money and time well spent!
