Works very well. Primarily being used to connect external mic with 1/8" connector to iPad air via USB-C for recording and video music lessons. This device is convenient, easy to use, and has very high quality sound. The device is powered via USB-C (drawing power from the iPad, in my case). The USB-C cable also transports digital audio into and out of the iPad (it probably has internal ADCs and DACs). One feature request: it would be helpful to add an optional, external power supply so the device won't run down the iPad's battery. I tried using a belkin USB-C data/power splitter for this purpose, but it did not work. Otherwise the device is excellent.

The HyperX is a well crafted usb mixer, but it just has some very stupid features while missing some important ones.I have a few choices in audio interfaces at my disposal. They are all different in their own ways but all basically do the same thing. My desktop mic rig:Soundblaster AE9 ( PCIE Sound card with external interface/my main rig)Motu Ultralite MK5 (USB audio interface and digital mixer)Motu PRE (XLR mic input interface)Mackie Mobile Mix (Wireless mixer and interface)Soundblaster G6 (external sound card)and HyperX Audio Mixer (USB mixer and interface)HyperX is dead last of the bunch. So all these interfaces do the same thing in different ways but better than the HyperX audio mixer. On the positive side, Its easy to use. its plug and play and its fairly small for a solid mixer/interface. It came with a ground loop isolator and some nice quality XLR and TRS cable. It has 1 XLR input, 1 TRS mic input, and 1 line level input Its a 3 channel mixer. The headphone output sounds bad. It doesnt sound particularly great compared to my other choices, and I did test it out back to back w/ my headphones. The sound is slightly muffled and a bit low fi. This is marketed for "content creators", and since HyperX is a gaming company, using these for gaming or mixing sounds terrible. So, its not the best sounding of the bunch for listening to music for example. My XLR mics sound great though. They sound crystal clear. The interface has a nice feel with great digital encoder knobs and smooth sliders. However, there was huge issue that was deal breaker for me.It doesnt have a way to monitor your mic channels. There is no side tone output to this device. I find that very inconvenient and annoying because I cannot hear myself talk if i'm using headphones. Keep in mind that Im using open-back headphones with velvet pads, which means that Im not totally isolated, yet I still feel that I cannot hear what Im saying on the mic. That means I cannot control my voice volume in real time. Also, this means that I cannot use my FX pedals, compressor, etc. with this unit like I can with my other interfaces. It also has a very stupid design with its line in/line out volume sliders and knob. For some reason, they thought it would be a good idea to use a slider and knob to do the exact same thing. Its redundant and this extra knob should have been used for monitoring mic channels instead.Because of that I think that this product isnt 5 star quality. The build and everything else about is nice but they really missed the mark this. This product had some potential, but in the end, I would have returned this product If I could. Unfortunately, im stuck with this unusable product.

Audio Quality: 7/10 Compared to recording directly to a TASCAM DR100 MkIII and then transferring files this compares pretty well. The noise floor is higher than the digital audio recorder with the same mics, however the convenience of recording directly into a computer for something like a voice over is enormous. I found that with noise reduction I couldn't really tell the difference between the sources, but it is always a little frustrating having to apply noise reduction when I wouldn't have to do so with a different workflow.I'm guessing that either the Mic Preamp in this just isn't as good as the one found in the DR100 or there is some internal noise suppression going on in the recorder that is hidden from the user. The audio still sounds good on this, but it does leave room for improvement (at least over XLR from a mid range dynamic mic with no phantom power).Ergonomics: 10/10 This is where the panel really shines. It is outstanding for its purpose as a mixing panel. The weight is great and the panel layout is perfect.Component Quality: 7/10 The buttons are a little stiff as are the faders. I think this could be improved in a next version. The rotary encoders/knobs are excellent.I/O: 9/10 This has excellent I/O on board. An extra XLR input is the only thing that could really improve it.Overall I feel like this device is a strong 8/10 for what it is. If the manufacturer worked a little bit to improve the noise floor and softened the button and slider actuation forces slightly I think it could be near perfect for the task.

This is a great audio mixer for a beginner - it is perfect for improving sound quality and is small and portable as well. The instructions do lack a lot, but there are quite a number of videos on line that are helpful. The product came nicely packaged and seems to be good quality. Its a great start!

This is my first audio mixer product so I can't really compare it to anything else, but I thought it works really well. There's no need to download any external software to use the basic features of the mixer, which is really nice since I'm still learning how to use it. The manual says that you can download their software for additional features but I'm not at the point where I need to. The buttons and slider are really smooth and feel very satisfying to use. Overall a great product to have for streaming.

Seems to be of decent quality. As a beginner, the instructions don't offer much help. Finding videos or other instructions would be a better tool. Sturdy, well-built.

There are a number of applications and needs for an audio mixer. But many I have used in the past required all kinds of apps, downloads, unique configurations to do a simple feed to for my recording or stream. Now days I do more live recording for instruction and music. And this audio mixer really improved my audio production. Very portable for my remote configurations. Smooth faders, Overall small footprint with Good-sized knobs and controls (not the mini knobs I find on other units). It works with a variety of input options. The cloth-covered cables are included and are really up-scaled. Appreciate the phantom power option. I am very pleased with the overall value and features.
