About this item

  • Optimized Engine Tuning For Maximum Power & Performance
  • Speedometer Calibrator for non-stock tires and rear end gears ratio for most applications
  • Automatic transmission shift point and shift firmness adjustments for most applications
  • Adjuable RPM "REV" limiter for some applications
  • Reads and Clears Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's)

The Max Energy tuning provides additional power and optimized transmission functions, resulting in less fuel to accelerate and maintain cruising speeds without the torque converter unlocking and transmission down-shifting to a lower gear. The results are maximum power and fuel mileage. For gas vehicles that come from the factory capable of using regular octane fuel, two (2) optimized tuning programs are provided: one for premium, and the other for regular. Only one (1) power tuning program is provided for vehicles that were designed from the factory to use only premium fuel. For diesels, the Max Energy offers three (3) stages of power tuning for diesels. Even the highest power level, stage 3, maintains safe EGT while towing the maximum weight specified by the vehicle's manufacturer. Hypertech's low EGT, proper transmission shifting, and superior tuning that doesn't require de-fueling.

Works as advertised. Shift points are perfect now. Level 2 produces a lot more power and driveability is so much nicer. Had to manually enter my VIN for some reason but no sweat.

Fellow 7.3 owners, you know the deal: for all of the many, many outstanding features of these old workhorses, 0-60 time is not one of them.If you are like me, then you're probably tired of getting smoked off the line by bikes. And by bikes, I mean bicycles.I'm talking about "oomph". "Pep". "Get up and go". Whatever you call it, the stock setup for a 7.3 just doesn't have it. To clarify, this isn't talking about being able to burn out, or trying to be one of the cool kids... this is wanting to not have to absolutely floor it when the light turns green.I've known about these kinds of tuners for a while, but I was hesitant... they aren't exactly cheap, plus I just could imagine myself with a flashlight with my head under the dash with a bundle of unhooked wires and my alarm going off just beyond confused. An unappealing situation, to say the least. That is, until a couple weeks ago, by a stroke of luck I met a fellow 7.3 owner at the grocery store, and he had one of these tuners and I was shocked how easy it was! No chips, no wires, no splicing or electrical tape or frustration... just plug it into your OBD port and follow the instructions. Not only does it give you 3 different stages of performance, it also gives you the ability to read/clear your DTC codes. The final selling point for me was also having the ability to input your tire size... I had put larger tires on my truck, which unfortunately messes up the accuracy of your speedometer due to the various variables the computer uses to calculate speed/mileage. Thanks to this tuner, it reads correctly again!I can't say enough good things about this tuner... even just going from stock to Stage 1 is a massive difference. You will be shocked at how much life these breathe into the old dog! Now chances are that you will have to update the tuner prior to being able to use it, but that's as simple as plugging it into your WINDOWS computer and following the instructions. To wrap up, I give this product two thumbs up! It's easy to use, fairly priced (compared to some of the others out there) and once you see just how much of a difference it makes you will be wondering why you didn't do it sooner! No more sluggin' along for you, so what are you waiting for?? Do it!Do it.

Did not work on my 2000 Excursion XLT 6.8 gas. Jay at customer support was no help and was kind of rude and short with me. I would not recommend even trying this product as it is quite cheaply made. First you have to have your own adapter for the power cord and for the cost of this flimsy unit it should have came with it. As I stated this unit is very cheaply made and as soon as I pulled it out of its box the sticker on front that identifies the company fell off. I then noticed immediately how light weight and flimsy it is. Do yourself a favor and find another solution as I am going to do.

installed on Ford 5.4L f350, manual tranny, flatbed welding rig.Recalibrated speedo, tire size, rev limiters, reg fuel program was easy to install. No issues at all, just follow onscreen promps. Performance wise wasnt too impressed on day one. Day 2 drove to work around 75 miles and noticed at normal highway speed 70 mph the tach was averaging around 500 rpm less. So it did make a difference. This review is only day 2, but over 150 miles of highway driving.

I have to admit I was skeptical ordering this product but I took a chance because of the majority of good reviews. I bought an older truck but new to me and it did not have quite enough power for me so I thought I would give this a shot. My truck is a 2001 f150 with a 5.4 V8. Within 20 minutes of plugging it into my truck and going through the set up I was all done. Next I took it for a drive and was absolutely amazed at the power increase right away. I only set it to regular fuel and have not messed with the other settings yet but I am getting bigger tires this weekend and will update more. I plan on filling up with premium next and seeing how much more power i get. As far as gas mileage I have not had it long enough to determine. In my opinion this was an expensive product worth every penny.

So the Amazon listing lists out all these cool features that do not apply to the 1997 4.6L F150. All it did was give it a new engine Tune/timing map and require premium fuel. Yes it did boost the acceleration in my truck. Not sure it was worth $330.
